‭020 3200 2941‬ London, England Somebody rang me saying they were from HMRC. I asked her if she could send something to my email so I could check on my phone. When I told her I don’t use the internet and she should just post a letter instead, she just cut the call straight away.

In just one day, I got SIX calls from some automated voice claiming “HMRC is taking you to court for unpaid taxes” 😂😂😂 Like seriously, do they really think we’re clueless and don’t know how HMRC actually gets in touch? Such a stupid scam!

I just got a call from what sounded like HMRC, but it was all automated, telling me there was some legal action against me and to press 1 to speak with someone. It felt dodgy straight away, so I just hung up. Then I checked with HMRC themselves and they confirmed it was a scam. Apparently loads of people have been getting these calls lately, and they said to just ignore them and never share any personal info. I reckon most folks would spot it’s fake, but for anyone unsure or tempted to press something, just watch out - these calls are going around.

Got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC just this morning. Apparently, the same number’s been linked to dodgy Amazon Prime scams too. I flagged it up to Action Fraud via their 'report a phishing attempt' section online. They gather all the scam details from these reports to help tackle the problem down the line, so complaining is worth it. They get around 2,000 reports each month, but honestly, if everyone reported every scam properly, it should be thousands every single day.

Got about four messages left on my voicemail threatening me with some kind of legal trouble, but they never said who it was about. Just ended up deleting all of them straight away.

Today I got four calls from this number claiming to be from HMRC. They had a recorded voice telling me to press 1 to speak with someone regarding some legal issue they said was against me - yeah, right. I've blocked the number now.

Got a voicemail claiming it was Amazon warning me my Prime trial is about to end and I'd be billed soon. They said if I wanted to stop it, I should press 1 and go through some questions. I’m not even signed up for Prime, so I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Got a call claiming I had a £39.99 monthly Amazon subscription that’d be taken out soon unless I hit 1 to chat with someone about cancelling. There’s no way I have Amazon Prime, so pretty clear it’s a scam. The approach was a bit different than usual but still very dodgy. Just ignore it!
