Got a call from someone saying they were updating my home appliance insurance. They said my card on file was out of date and asked for my new card info. They mentioned because I hadn’t made any claims in the past year, I could get a discount and the renewal would be “just” £225. Somehow, they managed to get through my call blocking app.

Got a call about some sort of home appliances, but it was a scam for sure. The annoying part was, they somehow bypassed my call blocker, so it didn’t stop them ringing me. Proper dodgy!

I recently got a phone call from these folks saying my washing machine warranty had expired. First off, they kept asking for my husband, but the machine is in my name. Then they had the wrong address for me - I moved over 9 years ago! Like others have mentioned, my washing machine is really old anyway. Plus, I already have a cover plan with D&G! The bloke just wouldn’t stop talking. I told him to take my details off their database. I’m on the TPS register, so they really shouldn’t be calling me at all!

Some firm claiming to be a 'warranty company' called me out of the blue.

Someone rang me from this number saying my washing machine's warranty was about to expire. I can't remember the company’s name, but I quickly cut them off, telling them my machine is over a decade old, and the warranty ended ages ago. Thing is, they seemed to be aware of that, which is why they called in the first place! I asked them what brand my washing machine was, and once they couldn’t answer, I just ended the call.

Some bloke called saying my home appliances warranty had expired and I needed to fork out £300 to renew it. Thing is, I’ve never even signed up for any warranty before.

Today I've gotten loads of calls from an Asian person about some home electrical insurance rubbish, and it's driving me mad. Could they just stop calling me already?

Looks dodgy to me, probably a scam.

Got a call from someone who said his name was Mark, but he had a strong accent and I struggled to catch most of what he was saying. He mentioned something about 24/7 appliance insurance or similar. I told him I wasn’t interested and hung up. I’m left wondering if signing up to the number preference service actually works to block these kinds of spam calls.

24/7 Appliance Support! Total scam! I decided to humour them and went along until they asked for my bank info. When I asked why they needed it for an automatic renewal, they suddenly got all rude and started shouting 😂

Some bloke who gave the name "Julian" rang me up saying he was from Appliance Care and wanted to chat about my appliance warranty running out. He never mentioned my real name was Sandy though. I just kept the convo going, asking stuff but he dodged every question like a proper scammer. In the end, I told him off and hung up.

The phone was answered by an automated voice. Then a man with an Indian accent greeted me with "good afternoon" and my name. After repeating my name a few times and getting no reply, he just ended the call.

Got a call from a woman asking for my dad’s info about some washing machine insurance. Totally a scam, don’t pick up or share anything with them!

I received a proposal to renew my appliance insurance at a price that was £30 cheaper than what I paid previously. It seemed plausible at first, but I realised I had more information than he did and informed him that I had never taken out cover with his firm before, indicating there must have been some sort of mix-up. He responded courteously, wishing me a pleasant day! Thankfully, there was no rudeness or unpleasantness between us.

I got a call from some bloke claiming he was from a town just about 6 miles from here. He was proper rude and pretty angry too. When I asked for info, he refused outright and kept pushing to know who the account holder was. Honestly, don’t trust them or share anything!

My elderly mum got a call about her washing machine warranty being up. They tried charging her, first said £170 then dropped it to £100, asking for her card info. Thankfully, mum recalled me telling her never to share bank details on the phone, so she hung up. Definitely one of those appliance scams!

The phone connection was awful, so I couldn't really figure out what they were offering. On top of that, they got my address totally wrong.

Got a phone call about some home appliances, sounded like a scam to me. When I said I wasn’t interested and called them out, they started calling me a crook! Bit of a strange reaction if you ask me.

Just got a call again from an appliance scam. They’ve called me like 24 times now on different numbers. I keep telling them to take me off their list since I don’t own a washing machine and I’m nearly 100 years old. The voices always sound foreign too. It’s about time someone did something to stop these scammers.

Just like yesterday, this person called and started by using my first name like they were mates with me (bit cheeky if you ask me!). They kept pushing about some washing machine warranty, wouldn’t accept ‘no thanks’ for an answer even after I said my washer's been around for 12 years. I’m on the do not call list and have my number unlisted, but they still manage to ring me non stop!

Got a call from someone trying to sell me a warranty for my appliances, asking straight up for my bank details to “renew” the cover. They couldn’t even tell me what appliances I supposedly had or when my warranty was supposed to end. A guy with a South African accent kept changing the price - started at £170 a year, then dropped it to £140, then suddenly to £72. He claimed it would cover any number of appliances, even said I could swap out my decade-old TV for some £8000 8k model if I fancied. Definitely felt like a total scam to me.

This number, 02034685791, has rung me a couple of times over the last few days trying to have a private chat with me. I didn’t want to answer so I just ignored them. A couple days later they called again, so I just blocked the number on my phone for good.

Could barely make out the accent over the loud background noise, it was some sort of call centre. The person was talking about an "appliance renewal" and got right into asking for my direct debit info. They said they wouldn’t be sending anything through the post either. Felt like one of those scams aimed at older folks.

Got a call from someone with a really thick accent, claimed it was about renewing some electrical device. They had my address, but then asked for card details over the phone, which felt off. Told them no way I’d give payment info like that without proper paperwork in writing. Seemed like a total scam to me.

Got multiple calls in a short space of time, about 3 in 10 minutes. The bloke said he was ringing from some company called 24/7 and told me my warranty for electrical stuff was up for renewal. He claimed I’d paid by Visa card, but couldn’t give me any real card info ‘cause the number apparently changes every 3 years, though he said it began with a 4. Told him I wasn’t bothered, then ended the call.
