I asked for their company registration number, and they gave me 06134591. When I pressed them on how they got my contact details, they just hung up. I phoned back, but the person who answered was pretty rude, telling me not to call again. I’ve never come across either of these companies before and don’t remember ever sharing my number with them. The email address they had for me seemed ancient, so I reckon they’re breaking GDPR rules. After mentioning this, they still insisted I mustn’t call. I’m guessing it was some sort of boiler room scam, since I could hear a busy call centre in the background.
