I received an unsolicited call on my personal mobile, with the caller asserting that they were a marketing manager representing either Enterprise UK or UKV International, and they wanted to send me some literature regarding wine investments. When I pressed for the company’s registration number, they provided me with 06134591. However, when I asked how they sourced my information, they abruptly hung up. Dialling back led to a rather brusque response asking me to refrain from calling again. I've never encountered either company before, and I certainly don't remember ever sharing my contact information with them. The email address they had on file for me was quite dated, which raises concerns about potential GDPR violations. I made that clear during the call and insisted they cease contacting me. I have a suspicion that this could be some dodgy boiler room operation since the background noise resembled a chaotic call centre. Consequently, I plan to lodge a complaint regarding these two companies and the number that contacted me with the Information Commissioner's Office and the Financial Services Authority.

Somebody called saying they were from Enterprise UK, offering financial advice and wanting to start a business partnership. I’d never come across them previously and definitely didn’t ask them to get in touch. They somehow had my name and email, which was quite worrying - it’s clear one of the other companies I deal with must be sharing my info. When I said I wasn’t interested, they wouldn’t take no for an answer, so I just ended the call. Now I’m just waiting to see if my inbox gets flooded with spam because I’m convinced this might be some sort of boiler room scam.
