Phone scam alert, got an automated call claiming to be from HMRC saying I’m in trouble for tax evasion. It told me to press 1 to talk to an official, and if I don’t they'll supposedly send a warrant for my arrest. Total scam!

I just got a ring from this number, and the person claimed to be from Money Expert and even knew my name. I told them to take me off their call list, and the woman asked if I wanted to hear why she was calling. I said no and repeated to remove my details, warning I'd report them if they called again. She kept pushing, asking again about the reason, and when I said no once more, she told me I was being rude. I told her it was just an unwanted cold call, which is illegal, then ended the call.

Had a call from this number yesterday afternoon. The lady on the line was really vague and kept hesitating, I had to practically pry out what she was on about. Definitely felt like a scam, she came across very unprofessional. She muttered something about a government scheme to clear debts, which I don’t even have. Got a call from them saying there's a new government plan where I could clear 90% of my debt, but first I need to talk to a senior manager before they send over any paperwork. A representative from a financial advisory service claimed they could help eliminate 90% of my debts. I responded that my only financial obligation was a Student Loan. They insisted that did qualify as debt and that I still owed money. I reiterated that I have absolutely no other debts and promptly ended the conversation. I've since lodged complaints with Ofcom and the ICO regarding their behaviour, and I’ve noted that there’s been a lack of action for nearly a year now. I can’t be the only one who’s raised concerns. It’s quite disheartening to see our government act like a bunch of timid creatures, lacking the will to tackle real issues. They even turn a blind eye to theft unless the amount exceeds £200. It feels as though there are no principles left in this nation; the law seems to have lost all meaning.

Got called by Money Matters, they said they could clear 90% of my debts. Told them I only have a student loan, no other debts. They said the student loan doesn’t count and insisted I still owe money. I told them again I had no debts and just ended the call. Reported them to Ofcom and the ICO, but nothing’s been done in nearly a year. Surely I’m not the only one complaining. Our government just sits on their hands, too scared to take action. They even ignore theft unless it’s over £200. Feels like there’s no real justice left here. Law means nothing anymore.

I’ve been informed that they’re supposedly collaborating with Anglian Water. However, I had a chat with them face-to-face and clarified that they aren’t actually affiliated with the water provider. The young lady I spoke with sounded as though she’d just stepped out of school, trying far too hard to be a customer service representative. The chap I encountered the following day was hardly any improvement. Mark my words, these are spam calls-best to ignore or block them altogether!

Some woman rang me but when I asked her name she just wouldn’t say. She mentioned something about the government and I just hung up straight away. No way I’m dealin with someone who talks like that. Blocked her number immediately.

Got a call from a woman saying my info had been sent to them and that they’re a government-backed group helping folks sort out debts. She said I owed over £1000. When she asked if the debts were from credit cards, mortgages, or loans linked to a previous address, I knew it was dodgy since I’ve lived at the same place for more than 20 years. Her accent was strange and her English was tough to follow. When she said she’d transfer me to someone else, I just hung up. They called me back straight away twice, so I blocked the number. Would definitely label this number as sketchy.

It's a debt management firm that's been trying to reach me. They're asking about whether I have a mortgage, but honestly, I’m not comfortable sharing that kind of personal info with a complete stranger on the phone. It feels a bit intrusive, doesn't it?

When I tried to figure out who was actually calling, the whole story fell apart. They said they were from a company called Crystal Solutions in Manchester, but the address they gave me wasn’t their real office - it was a completely different place, and the website link they sent wasn’t the legit Crystal Solutions site. Also, the phone number started with a London area code. When I questioned them, they suddenly said they were a different company that just worked with Crystal, even though at first they told me they were Crystal Solutions themselves.

Picked up the phone but all I heard was a buzzing sound then they just ended the call.

Number popped up on my phone but I didn't answer as it looked unfamiliar, the voicemail later said it was from Revenue and Customs claiming I had a warrant out for me and to get in touch with my case officer straight away, also asking me to press "1". The voice was all robotic sounding like a computer generated message, no way I pressed anything!

She called me and mixed up my name. Said she had some kind of help for clearing debts, so I joked and told her I owed a mil, like a million pounds, and if she could sort that out then we can chat. She ended the call right away after that.

I usually don’t pick up calls from unknown numbers, so I just ignored it. There wasn’t any voicemail left, so I guess it must have been nothing important. After reading what other people said, I’m definitely going to block it!

I didn't answer the call. Nowadays, I just block any numbers that don’t show who’s calling, like no name or business info. Don’t bother me if I can’t see who it is!
