Someone claiming to be from my internet provider said our connection was hacked and needed remote access to fix it. I could hear him flipping through some kind of script, proper call centre stuff. After I hung up, I got calls from three other numbers pestering me. Possibly didn't like how blunt I was?

Like someone else mentioned, I started getting calls after using compare the market. I haven’t picked up and just block the number since they keep ringing for ages, like 5 minutes or more, which no one normally does.

I got three calls all within 10 mins. When I picked up, the bloke said he was from some survey company and asked if I could give him 5 mins so he'd never ring back. Told him exactly what I thought, then ended the call and blocked the number!

I encountered a similar hassle with my home phone, so I decided to invest in new handsets equipped with the Call Guardian feature. Honestly, it's been the wisest expenditure I've made! It's absolutely brilliant! If everyone could use this tech, those irritating call centres would likely be out of business in no time.

Yesterday I got a call from someone with a strong foreign accent who knew my name. They said it wasn’t a cold call and promised it’d only take a minute. I keep getting calls from someone with an Indian accent, but strangely they use names like John or Michael. They claim I've won some money and ask for my bank info. When I say hold on and hand the phone to my partner, he pretends to be Chinese and just starts babbling nonsense in Mandarin. They don't hang about after that and just cut the call.

THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE THEM QUIT IS TO REPORT THEM TO THE ICO FOR CONSTANT ANNOYING CALLS. THE MORE COMPLAINTS THEY RECEIVE, THE MORE LIKELY THEY ARE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

About 7.20pm yesterday evening, I picked up a call from this number. The caller didn’t give his name but said he was from a company called Verso and wanted me to do a phone survey. When I asked how they got my info, he said I’d entered some competitions, which I definitely hadn’t. I pressed him again on it and he didn’t seem happy. I told him I wasn’t interested and then ended the call. Just a heads up, when you hang up, make sure the call actually ends because I had to hang up a couple of times before it finally disconnected properly.

Got a call from an Indian lady who spoke really fast; she said her name was Stacey and that she was ringing from a firm starting with ‘v’. She claimed she wasn’t trying to sell anything. Oddly, she told me I had a nice voice?? I put the call on speaker so my husband could listen in. Then she said I was quite fortunate and asked if I owned a car, what brand it was, and whether I might be interested in some sort of prepaid plan. I said no thanks, but she kept going on and on, so I just ended the call and blocked the number.

Avoid these filthy scammers - every number from Verso begins with 0203 but they’re actually calling from some dodgy call centre in Madras. Make sure you report them to the ICO for constant annoying calls. That’s the only way to put a stop to this madness.

I got a call from a company called Versco claiming they were doing some sort of market survey. They started off asking about what newspapers I usually read, but then quickly moved on to personal stuff like if I own a car, how long I've had it, the make and model, and even asked about any loans, credit cards or mortgages I might have. I refused to answer any of those questions and the person just ended the call right away. Feels like they're not being honest about why they're calling and it's pretty dodgy if you ask me. This needs to be looked into and stopped.

Asked if I've ever taken out any loans, credit cards, or a mortgage. Then he wanted to know about my job. When I tried to call back, the number said it was no longer in service. It's pretty unsettling when some bloke rings you up asking personal stuff like that.

Got a call from a woman who sounded Asian, she knew my name and my old address even though I only moved about 3 months back. She said she was with some company called Verso (or something like that). Then she said she wanted to ask me four questions, started asking if I had a car and how old it was. She kept giggling and said she wished she had one too, called me lucky. My husband got called twice within a few minutes by some bloke with an Asian accent who said his firm was called WERSO, spelling it out for me. He then began asking about our address, postcode, even if we owned a car. When I cut him off to ask what exactly they do, he just ended the call. Then the same number rang again but when I picked up, it sounded like I was ringing them, so I just hung up. Pretty clear it was one of those annoying accident claim scams, just another cold caller having a go.

Received a call on my home phone from 02034574170. After a bit of digging online, it seems it's linked to some sort of survey. My answer machine picked up, but the caller disconnected before leaving a message. I typically don’t return calls from numbers I don't recognise. If a number is not displayed on my phone, I just use 1471 to track it down, as long as it’s not withheld. It would certainly be more advantageous if they bothered to leave a message instead. I've been getting loads of calls from this number on my landline which is supposed to be unlisted. I reckon BT should do something about these annoying people getting hold of my number. Got a call from Verso Group once, they said they had a few questions for me.. I asked if I got it right, then they started a survey. After I kept asking if this was a survey, they said no, but kept firing survey questions at me anyway. When I questioned them further, they just hung up. Then, about thirty minutes later, they rang back and again wanted to ask questions. I told them I already spoke to them, but they denied it and just ended the call.
