Somebody calling with a strange accent rang me up, saying I could get a better deal on my phone plan for way less money. They wanted my bank details but I didn’t give anything and just ended the call. After that, I rang my phone company and they told me it was probably a scam.

I cut him off and asked who he thought he was speaking to. He claimed he was from EE. When I pressed for who I was, he got rude and hung up. Honestly, quite an amusing exchange!

Looks like this phone number belongs to a call centre. I've noticed loads of very similar numbers reported, all clustered in the same range but with different last digits, which is quite typical. These calls often come from firms handling multiple clients. I gave the number a ring back myself, but it just said the number’s out of service - probably some sort of one-way system they have that stops you calling them back. Has anyone actually managed to get through to someone on this number?

I received bothersome phone calls at around 9 in the evening yesterday and then again at 8:15 tonight. The caller was a man with a Chinese accent, and there was quite a bit of background chatter interfering with the conversation. Quite annoying, to say the least!
