Today I received a rather suspicious automated call from this number, suggesting that I press a button to connect with an HMRC representative concerning my tax affairs. It felt as though they were insinuating my involvement in some sort of tax dodging case. I’m certain this is a scam, as HMRC does not operate in this manner!

Received a dodgy call supposedly from HMRC - it was obviously a pre-recorded message, laden with a thick accent, full of ominous threats about 'taking action for overdue taxes'. I've gone ahead and blocked the number.
