On Monday 29th April 2019, I replied to a TV advert about Alzheimer’s research by texting talk2 to 78866 for a free info pack. I got an immediate text saying they’d ring me on this number. Since then, I’ve missed about four calls from this number. I usually don’t pick up calls before the third ring, cos if it’s a scam or auto-dialler, they usually stop after a few rings. After that, I just ignore or block those numbers. Only now have I figured out what this number was. If they truly just wanted to send a free info pack, why be so sneaky? I’m definitely blocking this number.

i texted dementia research after spotting an ad on telly, asking how to prevent dementia. they replied saying they'd call me back from this number to collect my info and send stuff through. pretty sure they gonna use the call to try and get me to commit to regular donations though.

It seems rather odd that they don't disclose who they are. They also omit leaving any voicemail when they ring. When I attempt to contact them back, I only get a recorded message stating, 'our offices are currently closed' at just half two in the afternoon, despite the hours promising availability from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. Clearly, there was no one there at 2.30 p.m. today!

Some charity about dementia kept ringing me. I didn't pick up but when I rang back, the automated message didn't say who they were. Then a couple days later they called again, I answered and the lady was quite nice and didn’t push when I said no.
