I've been approached by someone claiming to be raising funds for Alzheimer's research, and they're asking for my full name along with my bank's sort code and account number.

I can confirm that the call I received was indeed genuine, coming from the Alzheimer’s UK charity. They reached out to verify the details of my donation pledge.

I just wanted to double-check some information regarding Alzheimer’s Research UK, as I've recently registered with them. When I completed my sign-up, I was informed that someone would be reaching out via phone. I can assure you, I’m not concerned about it being spam in any way.

I believe this is the Alzheimer’s Society; they usually reach out to verify the particulars when you sign up to make a donation with them.

Should you have registered for a monthly donation to this charity, expect a preliminary call from this number. Nothing to worry about, it's merely routine for Alzheimer Research.

Received a call whilst I was tied up and couldn't answer. They didn’t bother to leave a voicemail. Suspected to be from the Alzheimer’s Society.

Rang the number, but there was silence after they picked up.

I recently registered with the Alzheimer's Society—just yesterday, in fact—and explicitly requested that they refrain from contacting me. Yet, they went ahead and called nonetheless. I'm seriously considering cancelling my involvement with them, as they can’t seem to follow straightforward requests. I’ve gone ahead and blocked their number.

I received a call from Alzheimer's Research UK, which is a charity that's officially registered. They rang me just the once to verify my donation, just like they mentioned they would. It's important to note that it wasn't the Alzheimer's Society reaching out.

I received a call from a number I didn’t recognise, but as it turns out, it was the Alzheimer’s Society – an organisation I already support with regular donations. They called me while I was working and, to my frustration, didn’t leave any message. It's a bit irritating, honestly!

I always ignore calls from numbers I don’t recognise! If it’s important, they’ll leave a voicemail, right? They rang me twice without so much as a word! Turns out it was the Alzheimer’s Society, the very charity I just joined to support! A brief message would’ve done the trick, and I likely would have picked up on the second attempt since they mentioned they’d be in touch.

I regularly support the Alzheimer's Society with a monthly contribution. They do have the option to leave a voicemail, yet I’ve never received one, nor do they pick up when I try to return the call. If this persistent botheration continues, I shall be forced to reconsider my donations!

I keep receiving calls from this number daily, Monday to Friday. Does anyone know who's behind it?

Only about 3% of the funds contributed to these parasites actually make their way into research. The vast majority is swallowed up by administrative expenses, salaries, and hefty bonuses for the higher-ups.

I've been receiving calls from this number incessantly, yet they never seem to leave a message on my voicemail. If it turns out to be something to do with the Alzheimer's Society, I won’t hesitate to cut ties with them.

Got a call with no one on the other end – what a bother!

For the past three days, I've gotten calls from this number nearly every day, and occasionally even multiple times in a single day. Strangely, no messages have been left. I've since decided to block the number.

It’s just a call centre – incredibly bothersome, to be honest. It’s really best to just overlook them.

I’ve had enough of their incessant calls. The only reason they have my information is due to a rather persistent doorstep salesman. It’s really putting me off supporting this charity.

I've already provided them with the information!

What a right pain! If I felt like donating, I'd do it of my own volition, thank you very much. I already support various charities. But honestly, how much of those contributions ends up lining the pockets of commission-hungry call centres? It’s all rather disheartening, to say the least.

It's rather unsettling how persistent these callers are, especially when they target folks with Alzheimer's. I’ve made it clear I’m not interested in handing over any cash, yet they keep ringing me up! I’m not amused, to say the least. Thankfully, I've managed to put their number on block, so no matter how hard they try, they won't be hearing from me again! 😄

It’s the organisation for those impacted by Alzheimer’s.
