Got a call from someone saying they were Vanquis, talking about my account. They kept insisting they needed my security info before saying what the call was about. I told them that sounded dodgy because Vanquis usually tell me why they're ringing without asking for any private details first. When I asked again what the reason for their call was, all they could do was keep pressing for my security details. I refused to give anything and they just told me to ring Vanquis myself. Total scam attempt!

I reckon this call could be legit. Still, Vanquis really should rethink how they’re using this service - like, stop ringing people who aren’t even customers and give a break to ones they’ve already sorted payment plans with. Also, I really hope Vanquis don’t use those shame tactics when they call. Some firms, if you press ‘no’ to talk, blurt out how much the person owes, which is a total breach of privacy in my opinion.

Got a call asking for my lad by his first name, even spelled it out for me. I guess it was Vanquis bank since he’s got an account with them. Probably after some money owed. Couldn’t understand much of what she was saying, her English was poor and sounded like she was from India. Definitely not answering if they call again. He doesn't live at this address now.

On the 30th of December, I received a phone call, and yet again, on the 31st at 8 o'clock in the morning, the same woman rang me up. Curiously, she was aware of my name and requested my date of birth. I chose not to provide that information and promptly hung up, as I don't have any association with Barclays Bank whatsoever.

A woman with a South African tone asked to chat with ##, who I know quite well, about taking ## off an account at 'bankworth'. Sounds like another talktalk scammer to me. Don't ring this number again, they’re fraudsters. Looks like a hacker, probably linked to talktalk.

Absolutely, we've been receiving calls from these folks as well. I've lost count of the missed calls - managed to clock up four earlier today alone, and they’re still at it. The peculiar thing is, I don't even have an account with Vanquis! It all kicked off last month when we received a message claiming we owed them money and urging us to give them a ring.
