I had a rather intriguing phone call today from a gent named Syed. He claimed he was calling from London, representing Yorkshire Bank about some longstanding PPI complaints they were supposedly reviewing. He provided me with the number 08000253499, suggesting I could ring it to verify this whole affair, and promised to call me back afterward. I politely told him that I wasn't keen on calling a number he handed me, but I'd prefer to contact the bank directly. He didn’t seem overly bothered by my hesitation, yet I reiterated my disinterest in his proposition. I'm still toying with the idea of ringing that 0800 number out of sheer curiosity - it’ll be interesting to see who picks up!

Received a call from this number earlier today, claiming to be from our bank regarding a PPI claim review. We insisted they send us a letter instead, or we would contact our bank ourselves, which is precisely what we plan to do shortly.
