I received a message from some company claiming I had won a holiday, but they’re asking for £398 upfront. I wouldn’t trust this at all!

What a classic scam! We played their little game while knowing full well it was dodgy from the start. The so-called "Manager" got increasingly exasperated with our probing questions and abruptly hung up. Absolutely hysterical! Don't let these crooks pull the wool over your eyes!

They're at it again! I had a call from them earlier today and hung up immediately. Best to steer clear of these lot just like you would with a bad cold - it’s nothing but a trick if you ask me.

02034117170 - this number doesn’t belong to Royalty Travels, that’s for sure! We’ve both had similar experiences with this company. They sent us a holiday package for two adults and two kids under twelve, which is a bit suspect, to say the least! It seems there might be another rogue operator misusing their details to tarnish their reputation. Nevertheless, we’ve booked our trip through them and are really looking forward to spending Christmas in Orlando! Cheers to that! :)

Indeed, these individuals let us know that this is a contest organised by our credit card company, and since I frequently utilise this service, I would have been a contender. Total letdown! To make matters worse, we don't even possess a debit card, never mind a credit card!

We received a silent call from this number and decided to look it up, leading us to this site. It appears to be yet another scam trying to gather personal information, based on what's mentioned above.

I'm quite taken aback that BT permits these sorts of companies to ring up UK numbers peddling such nonsense. Is there any way to verify a number prior to picking up the call? I'm curious about what transpires as soon as I tap ‘1’. Could it potentially lead to a premium rate charge?

I recently received a call that was remarkably similar to what I've read here, claiming we had won a holiday for four to both Florida and Mexico. All they needed was for us to organise our flights. They were pushing for some personal details, and the number they provided-0010034117170-seems to be totally bogus; it doesn’t appear to be a real number, and their website is non-existent. Fortunately, we were wise enough not to disclose any card details. We’ve now reported the incident to the government helpline at 084540506, and it’s been forwarded to Trading Standards for further investigation.

I missed this call as it came through to our BT line, and the callers seemed flummoxed by our auto-attendant. But I did manage to capture a recording of their “you’ve won” message! Quite the amusing snippet, really!

I must say, that phone number-(020) 3411 7170-appears to originate from London. When these callers provide the number without the leading zero from the dialling code, it’s quite clear they’re ringing in from overseas. It's not unheard of for folks to manipulate this situation to make it appear as though they’re local. A quick search to identify the caller reveals the truth quite swiftly!

I’ve just received a call from 0203-411-7170, which is the same as what’s been mentioned about Royalty Travel, offering a holiday for four to Cancun and Mexico. We made it clear that we wouldn’t be providing any credit card details and expressed our suspicion that they might be a scam. The moment we hung up, they were quick to ring us again. It’s rather baffling why they would be so insistent. Like others have pointed out, best to steer clear of these folks; it’s undoubtedly a fraudulent operation.

I've encountered a rather similar situation with Royalty Travel. I received a notification about winning a two-day getaway, but then the individual started probing for my credit card details, which I absolutely refused to provide. He shared a phone number, 02034117170, which turned out to be linked to a telecommunications company. After perusing their website, I must say it certainly raises some red flags. Exercise extreme caution if you're approached by these folks!

We operate a small business from home, and recently, we received a call from a company claiming to be Royalty Travel, informing us that we'd won a holiday. What alarmed us was how they knew our credit card details; it was quite unsettling. They insisted on needing our card number along with its security code to verify our 'win'. We ended up disconnecting our phone as their message kept looping whenever we tried to make a call. It’s deeply concerning how they managed to get hold of our number, especially since we’re registered with the mail, email, and phone preference services. I strongly advise against engaging with them or divulging any personal information. We firmly believe this situation warrants a report to the appropriate authorities, perhaps even a consumer watchdog.

I recently received a phone call from a company promoting a holiday package that includes 12 weeks of all-inclusive travel to Cancun and Florida for four people. They claimed to be associated with Visa and Mastercard and requested my card details. I firmly declined and promptly hung up. They called back almost immediately, with someone named Matthew Brown introducing himself as the manager, insisting on getting the number on the back of my card. Again, I refused and ended the conversation. It all feels quite suspicious to me... No legitimate business would ever ask for such sensitive information.

The other evening, we received a rather dubious phone call purporting that we had won a holiday to Cancun and Florida! They were insistent on obtaining our card details to cover some insurance for the four individuals set to go. Naturally, we refused to share any information, but they persisted, hounding us for our card numbers. What a complete con! Absolutely unbelievable!
