Got a call from someone who said they were Virgin Media, telling me there was an issue with my internet. I'm not even home right now, so I just ended the call.

I got a call too, said something about pressing 1 to talk to a police officer. Another one came from +354 (0) 453 6339, which I think is from Iceland. I just let them both ring out to voicemail.

When I got the voicemail, the voice sounded American but after I pressed 1 and called back, it switched to an Indian accent. It felt really dodgy and made me feel uneasy, like they were pretending to be legit. I ended up ringing the police who told me straight away it was a scam. This is a nasty one so watch out. Avoid it completely and don’t give them any personal info or hit 1, no matter what.

This number called me earlier, and when I tried reporting it on the Ofcom site, it rang me back. A bloke answered asking for my National Insurance number, so I just ended the call straight away.

This was definitely a dodgy call. If they ask you to press 1, don’t do it - could be charging you through the roof. I just told them I was with the police and it put them off straight away.
