Got a call offering me £1000 loan if I cough up £50 first. They’ve been ringing my number at midnight, so I’m recording everything to show the cops.

Got a call on my landline at around 5:30pm from this London number 02033898750, but it was one of those pre-recorded male voices. I usually don't pick up numbers not saved in my phone, so I let the answerphone deal with it. Funny enough, it was the exact same script as a call I got earlier today around lunchtime from 003712589331. Both messages were identical, pretending to be from HMRC warning about an arrest warrant and mentioning a case officer sort of scam. I'm down here in West Cornwall, so seems like they're really pushing this scam in my area lately.

0203 389 6753 rang my landline and left a voicemail saying I was seriously behind on payments and to press 1 to speak to my case manager. Total rubbish if you ask me, just some dodgy lot trying to scare me. Honestly, tell them where to go!

These awful selfish people actually threatened my old mum, it’s scarred her properly. Honestly, I hope someone tracks them down soon. If I ever caught them, they’d be in a right mess.

Today my elderly dad got a call from this number. The person on the other end asked for loads of his personal info but thankfully no bank details. They threatened he’d be arrested over some tax problems and claimed police would turn up if he didn’t pay up straight away! Luckily, my dad ended the call and came to tell me. After checking with the bank, it turns out they could now potentially take out loans pretending to be him. Just a heads up - no real company would behave like this! It’s awful how these scammers prey on vulnerable folks.

I got a call from 0161 850 4678 the other day and it was pretty much the same story. I had a bill overdue, so I was a bit worried at first. When I asked for a callback number, they gave me 0203 389 5184. I mentioned that I’d looked that number up online and it seemed dodgy, like a scam. Then they reluctantly provided the real HMRC number, 0300 200 2200, but insisted I ring their original number and ask for either Jenny Smith or Dave Watson. Really hope these lot get caught out soon...

So, yesterday (23rd October) I got a call from some bloke speaking with a strong Asian accent. Like others have said, he started threatening me about fines, court dates and my bank getting blocked. I stupidly gave away my date of birth and NI number. I reported the whole thing to HMRC and also contacted Action Fraud. I even called the number HMRC gave me, but with Action Fraud all I got was some recorded voicemail. Pretty frustrating!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Dave Watson at HMRC. They said HMRC was suing me and trying to take me to court.

Had a pretty much identical experience as others have mentioned here. Honestly, be cautious with these calls - they sound urgent but don't share any info. It's best to just report them right away.

This morning I got a call from the same number and they really sounded legit. I ended up giving them my DOB and NI number before I realised something was off when they told me to go to the bank and withdraw money to pay them! They even said I'd be arrested and my bank accounts frozen if I didn’t comply. I’ve since reported the whole lot to HMRC and the fraud action team.

SCAM ALERT! Got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC, an Asian guy who said I was being sued and threatened that I’d be arrested, taken to court, and my bank account frozen if I didn’t cough up some backdated tax. Luckily, I checked with my bank, the police, and even Which?, and all of them told me it’s a total con. Please, don’t fall for these scary, dishonest scammers - make sure you REPORT them!
