Got a call today from 0203388879, saying they were from DAG Insurance and that my washing machine was covered with them, which ain't true. They then mentioned my policy was up for renewal, but I told them all my appliances are insured through another company, then they just hung up. Definitely a scam.

Got a few calls lately about renewing my washing machine warranty. When I asked for specifics about my machine model, the lady said she was just a sales rep and didn’t have those details, but they’d be on the renewal documents. Then I asked if she was sure they were my actual insurer, and she said yes. I mentioned I was puzzled since my washing machine hasn’t been used in over 2 years, and she just ended the call.

Just let em know the person they’re after passed away not long ago and the family are still grieving. Ask them nicely to remove the number from their list cos all the calls are really upsetting for everyone. This trick never fails for me.

I received the most peculiar phone call. The caller inquired about the warranty on my washing machine. When I informed them that I didn’t have one, they proceeded to suggest some kind of insurance. How strange!

Got a call on my phone from a bloke who asked for me by name, claiming he was from Domestic & General, saying my appliance needed renewing. I was suspicious straight away so asked what brand the appliance was, and he said BEKO. That’s when he messed up because I’ve never had a BEKO! Told him goodbye and ended the call. Now he’s blocked from my phone contacts.

Got a call from someone who knew my husband’s name and said he was calling from some company called DAG about our washing machine, checking if it was working alright. I told him yes, it was fine. Then he went on about a £2 discount on my direct debit that I hadn’t claimed. I said my washing machine was brand new and I’d registered it myself, so why would he have my husband’s info? Plus, we’ve never paid for any warranty. He brushed it off saying maybe the manufacturer gave them our details by mistake and promised to call back. Pretty clear to me it’s a scam.

The guy on the phone was well spoken but clearly a con. He had my name but used my 90 year old mum’s address; she has dementia. Thankfully, I handle all her bills. This sounds just like all the other stories here. A posh bloke phoned me about renewing a warranty for my washing machine, but it’s about 10 years old and I’ve never had a warranty on it! I said I hadn’t bought one recently and he just hung up on me. I’ve now blocked the number using BT’s call protect, they make it super easy to set up - you just ring 1572 after a suspicious call and it sends those calls straight to their rubbish voicemail.

Got a call from an English voice who used my name and told me since I hadn’t arranged a service for my "EAG" washing machine, my direct debit would be lowered by £2. I told them I was puzzled as I don’t even have a direct debit set up. Then he just hung up suddenly.

Just got a call from some bloke called 'Ryan' claiming to be from 'Domestic Appliance Group' in Finchley, London. He was telling me my washing machine warranty is running out at midnight and that they don’t auto-renew anymore, so they need my bank details. I asked when I supposedly got this warranty and he said April 15th, two years ago. Then I asked what brand my machine was, and he just hung up! I never bought any warranty and my washing machine is only half a year old. Not falling for that nonsense!
