I got a call where the person claimed some devices were installed on my PC that could steal my passwords and that my Facebook account was compromised. They told me they needed to take my computer away to fix it. I just ended the call straight away.

Just got a call from 0203 386 6000 - they said they were from Facebook but it sounded fishy. Definitely seems like a scam. Watch out!

After seeing what others wrote, I decided to humour them for a bit. They started by messing up my name, and then when I said I just use Facebook when I'm at home, they asked if I had WiFi. I explained I can’t access Facebook without it! When I called them out on being a scam, she rang again before I could block the number, so I just kept quiet and let her go on. I've blocked the number now.

Cheers for the feedback! This phone number kept ringing me 7 times in less than 10 mins! I never answer calls from unknown numbers, but they just wouldn’t give up. Looks like they didn’t realise I’m not budging. After reading these comments, I actually hope they ring me again - I’d love the chance to tell them off properly!

Got three calls this week from a guy with an Indian accent claiming to be from Facebook. He said my account had been hacked and he needed to get in. I told him if he was really from Facebook, he should send me an email explaining what was going on. I also said I doubted he was legit. Then he started swearing at me, calling me all sorts, and just hung up on me.

Someone called claiming to be from Facebook, saying my account had been accessed from different countries by dodgy numbers or people on some blacklist. They told me to download some software on my laptop, but I don't even have one! The number they used didn’t seem right either, and of course they never rang me back like they said they would. Honestly, looks really shady. Can’t even ring them back. Just like others have said, they promise to follow up with a call or email but never do. Watch out, this seems risky.
