6 yearsReceived a call at around seven in the evening, inquiring about our purchasing habits.10 yearsI received a rather unusual call where they specifically mentioned my wife's name. When I inquired about their identity, they were rather evasive and abruptly hung up, promising to ring back later. I've signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, but to be honest, I didn’t even get a chance to confront them about it.Telephone Preference Service11 yearsI’ve unearthed that they're actually ELM Legal Services, who love to throw around the phrase "Essential legal management" to mask their true identity. Just pop over to their website at www.elm-online.co.uk to see for yourself. It’s quite clear they’re deliberately flouting the rules. They aren’t allowed to contact numbers registered with the TPS, yet they completely disregard this regulation. When I pointed out my TPS registration to one chap, he had the audacity to claim, “Oh, that doesn’t concern us because we’re not sales; we’re just marketing!” What a load of nonsense - both practices are indeed off-limits! It’s evident that they’ve been coached to spout such drivel to dissuade folks from reporting their shenanigans. I firmly told him that was utter rubbish and that I would be lodging a complaint against their company (and have done so on 17/5/12). I urge all TPS registrants to take the same action. Let’s aim to land them a hefty fine! If you feel like giving them a taste of their own medicine, every time their marketing team decides to bother you, don’t hesitate to ring their freephone number listed on their site and give them a piece of your mind. You can reach them at 0800 019 4557, Monday to Friday from 8 am to 10 pm and on weekends from 9 am to 5 pm.ELM Legal ServicescoukTPS11 yearsI received a phone call earlier from someone looking for my husband, claiming to represent a local outfit in Bristol called Elm Legal Services. They wanted to know if they could send some information through the post regarding wills. I declined, mentioning that we’re registered with the call preference service and really shouldn't be receiving such unsolicited calls. After I said that, they abruptly ended the conversation.BristolElm Legal Services12 yearsI've been receiving persistent calls from this person. It feels like a telemarketing operation, but they do seem to know my name. When I said I wasn't available and inquired if they wanted to leave a message, they hung up on me before I even finished my sentence. Quite rude, if you ask me!12 yearsReceived a call from this number not long ago. When we answered, the caller just hung up without saying a word. We won’t be answering this one again.12 yearsI've been receiving persistent calls from this company, yet I don't bother to answer and they never leave a message. It’s quite clear it's some sort of telemarketing operation.12 yearsReceived a call at 9 o'clock on a Saturday evening. The voice on the line was rather faint, and it sounded like a chap with an accent that wasn’t local, simply saying "hello." I decided to end the call right then and there. It was from a London number, possibly just another irritating marketing ploy. Even being registered with the Telephone Preference Service hasn’t made much difference.LondonTelephone Preference Service13 yearsI keep getting calls from a sales team, despite being on BT's do not disturb register. Quite frustrating, really!BTSubmit Your Own Report (020 3375 4399)
