An older woman, my mum who’s 97, was left shook and upset thanks to some lady with an Asian accent bombarding her with questions about supposed changes to her phone setup. Apparently, the payment for this was meant to come straight out of her bank by direct debit. It’s complete nonsense and it really spoiled an elderly lady’s day.

My grandma got a phone call from someone who tricked her by guessing the first four numbers of her card - probably just a bit of luck. They then tried to get her to give the rest of the card details. Thankfully, she didn’t share the full number, but they did manage to get her to say the expiry date by chatting her up ("I see your card’s almost expired" "Actually, it’s not"). Be sure to tell friends and family to hang up straight away if they get calls like this! These scammers are quite sneaky!
