4 yearsFor quite some time now, I've been inundated with unsolicited phone calls from a myriad of different numbers. I can’t shake the feeling that there's a single person or perhaps a shady organisation orchestrating this persistent barrage, as the moment I manage to block one caller, another pops up almost on cue. This particular number falls into that annoying category. Interestingly, while sifting through other reviews, I've noticed a recurring theme - many of the reported numbers seem to be linked to Carphone Warehouse and O2 promotions. Quite the coincidence, don't you think?Carphone Warehouse4 yearsThese folks ring me incessantly, yet I'm not permitted to use my phone during working hours. They never bother to leave a message either.4 yearsthe moment i picked up, they just ended the call right away.4 yearsThese numbers all begin with the same three digits keep ringin me, but i just dont pick up. Then i look up the number and make sure to block it straight away.4 yearsReceived a call claiming I was eligible for a discount on my O2 airtime. However, when they inquired about my current payment, I pointed out that they should already have that information if they're indeed representing O2. They claimed it was for security purposes. It was evident to me that it was a scam. I informed them that I recently upgraded my contract to the best deal O2 could provide - just last week! They tried to push back, asking for specifics about my new plan, and I reiterated that if they were truly O2, they would have access to that info. I decided it was best to terminate the call.4 yearsGot a call on my mobile from an unknown number, so I just ignored it.4 yearsPretended to be from O2, but it was clearly a scam. They ended the call abruptly as soon as I indicated I wasn’t falling for their nonsense.4 yearsI recently received a phone call purporting to be from Virgin Media. I quickly realised they were not actually representing the company, so I ended the conversation abruptly.Virgin Media4 yearsI’ve had the strangest experience! I’d pick up the phone, only to be met with silence, and then the call would cut off altogether. Just when I thought it was over, they'd ring me back. This cycle repeated several times! Eventually, someone purporting to be from my mobile network got in touch, yet they were rather coy about revealing their actual company name. All they wanted was for me to divulge my personal information first - very suspect if you ask me!4 yearsMy mum got a voicemail like this and she was a bit scared. She didn’t press any numbers though, thank goodness, and called us right away. Luckily, we’re a trio of HMRC workers in the family, so we told her it was definitely a scam and reported it.HMRC4 yearsThey said something about mobiles and sim cards but never mentioned any brand. Felt dodgy, like a scam to me.4 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were 02 and could help me save on my phone bill. They wanted to know how much I spend every month. When I told them I’m not with 02, they asked if I had any other numbers with them. I told ’em they’d already know if they really worked for 02 and then they just hung up. I reported the number to 7726.Submit Your Own Report (020 3369 0314)
