Then, out of nowhere, they started asking for my personal information. Not a chance! I firmly told them I don’t disclose any sensitive details over the phone for security reasons. By this stage, I’d already checked the number and discovered it belonged to a dubious outfit called Active Capital, supposedly engaged in debt collection. Things were getting suspicious, so I requested they send any correspondence through the post instead. Naturally, they asked for my full name and address - as if I would oblige! I made it clear I wasn’t interested in further communication and suggested they take a hike, or something along those lines. After that, I promptly hung up. Just a word of advice: always safeguard your personal information. If they already have your details, why would they need to ask for them again?
