I got a call from this number just yesterday, 11th Sept 2024. When I answered with a simple "Hello", I could hear some sort of rustling or movement in the background, then everything went quiet. After a few seconds of silence, they just ended the call!

I just got a phone call from a woman with a really strong Eastern European accent. She was going on about some Bitcoin in my account that’s about to be wiped out unless I moved it somewhere. I just flat out told her to delete whatever she wants! It’s so frustrating that these people have my number, and because I actually picked up, I’m probably on some list now showing numbers that belong to real people who answer.

I'm so annoyed with these scam calls - they've got my full name and claim there's some dodgy account in my name. The second I told them I enjoy a good tale, they just hung up straight away! Surely this breaks the TPS rules, or at the very least it's an attempt to con money, which is criminal. Just to add, they don’t stick to one number, they use loads of different ones.

Just like loads of people here, I got a call from a bloke named Alex - or Alexander, something like that, with a really thick Eastern European accent. He was going on about my crypto account being hacked, but I don’t even own one! Why is it that these scammers always seem to be ringing from the UK?

Got a call from some busy call centre, they wanted me by name and said something about a Crypto account, like did I remember it or something? I actually do have one but it’s not like I’d just forget about it! When I got a bit sharp and asked who exactly they were and what this was about, they just hung up on me. Total scammer. There was loads of noise in the background like a call centre, and someone called ‘Alex’ asked for me by name, saying something about a crypto account I supposedly set up. I actually do have a crypto account, but luckily I know they wouldn’t be ringing me on either my mobile or my landline about it. When I pressed him pretty firmly about who he was working for and why he suddenly ended the call, he just hung up. Definitely reported as a likely scam.

ABSOLUTELY A RIP-OFF - Some bloke with an Asian accent claimed he was from Amazon. I told him I was tied up and asked if it was urgent. He insisted it was super urgent, saying they were just about to charge me £79 for a yearly subscription. I got a bit jittery but then suspected it was a con. I told him I didn't buy it and to ring me in ten minutes. I checked my bank and my Amazon account - no notifications or emails from them. TOTALLY A RIP-OFF - Some bloke with an Asian accent claimed he was from Amazon. When I asked if it was urgent cause I was busy, he said it was really important and that they were about to take £79 for a year’s membership from my bank. My kids caught on when we got a Galaxy instead of the iPhone we paid for. Those scammers told us to send the phone back to an address they gave, but my daughter said no and rang EE to check. Turns out, these crooks just want to keep our phones and leave us with contracts for 2 to 3 years. So now we’re stuck paying monthly bills with no phones to show for it. Seriously, people, avoid these con artists at all costs and don’t share any personal or bank details with anyone. Trust me, it’s not worth all the trouble. END OF STORY.

Got calls from someone named Shawn claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse, called me like 7 times asking about my phone contract details. I asked them to email me to prove they're really from Carphone Warehouse. When I looked at the email domain, it was clearly dodgy (the sender was something like carep! ei but they used the genuine company logo and address). This number rang my husband's work phone, not his personal one, and the caller wanted to know which network he uses. After that, there was silence on the line, and my husband kept asking if anyone was there. Out of nowhere, the caller snapped with "shut the F..k up" and added "you’re done." Absolutely awful behaviour. This sort of thing needs reporting right away.

Got a call from some supposed insurance folks asking if I'd recently been in an accident. Thing is, I haven't been in one at all.

Been getting loads of voicemails that are super long but completely silent. And annoyingly, I can’t seem to get rid of any of them.
