Got a dodgy call today, some robot voice claiming HMRC was taking me to court and to press 1 to talk to a case officer.

Sounds just like those other scams I've heard about - warnings like "your phone line’s going to be cut off" or "£600 has been stolen from your account," all that rubbish.

There's no way HMRC would send a vague recording like that, they always send proper letters addressed to you personally.
