I received a couple of phone calls today, both delivering the same peculiar message. They urged me to return the call, mentioning that it was a pressing issue and required my immediate attention. The chap on the other end had a distinct African accent, and he wrapped up the conversation with a rather cheery "have a nice day". Does anyone have an idea who might be behind this?

I received a rather alarming phone call today, claiming that the tax authorities were gearing up to take legal action against me. They urged me to return their call posthaste. I recommend you do what I did-ring them back and unleash a torrent of expletives! After about twenty or thirty attempts, they eventually cut you off. Quite amusing, really!

I've received a couple of calls from this number, and honestly, what a farce! They’re banging on about tax evasion, but I can barely make out what they’re on about. It’s got all the hallmarks of a dodgy scam!

I got a couple of dodgy calls from that number earlier today, urging me to ring them back to dodge some sort of arrest. Honestly, you'd expect a scam like that to have a message that makes sense instead of being muddled and confusing. It really highlights the intelligence-or lack thereof-of the folks behind it!

I received a couple of calls this morning within a short span, both leaving the same recorded message on my answering machine. The voicemail claimed that there’s a lawsuit lodged against me-whatever gives them the impression they know who I am? They didn’t specify my name. Apparently, it's from the tax authority regarding allegations of tax fraud and evasion. They insisted I must urgently call their hotline at 020 3318 5730 before it escalates to court and I face arrest. Yet, remarkably, they concluded with a cheerful “have a splendid day”!

Received a couple of calls this morning from the same number. I cut the line on the first attempt, but the second time, they decided to leave a rather alarming message on my answering machine. The caller claimed that I was facing court proceedings for tax evasion! It's definitely making me contemplate getting rid of my landline altogether, as I'm thoroughly fed up with these irritating calls. I can't help but worry about elderly folks who might be genuinely frightened by such threats.

Today, on the 4th of July 2017, I had a bit of a scare when one of the vulnerable individuals I help got a phone call from this number. The caller claimed there was an outstanding debt to the tax authorities and proceeded to question her about her financial situation, hinting at potential criminal actions. Thankfully, her son was present and stepped in, snatching the phone away before she became too distressed.

This morning, my elderly mother got a rather unsettling phone call. Although they weren’t addressing her directly, the loud and confrontational chatter she was subjected to made her quite anxious. I’d appreciate any guidance on how to prevent this from happening again on her phone. Best wishes, H Cumming.
