The voice on the other end was quite mechanical, almost as if I were conversing with a machine. It was an automated call purporting to be from HM Revenue & Customs, insisting that I press '1' to reach my case officer to dodge potential legal issues. They claimed I was under investigation for tax evasion. Seems undoubtedly dodgy to me!
