After a while, I just ended the call because it felt like they were harassing me with no clear reason. I kept asking what the point of the call was, but they just circled back to the same spiel. Quite a strange experience, really.

To my astonishment, a male voice answered, also with a foreign accent, though this one was somewhat easier to comprehend. He reiterated that I had supposedly entered a competition and promised various free entries into the Euro Millions and the National Lottery. Additionally, he mentioned something about signing me up for three months’ worth of draws with a guarantee of winning. I couldn’t help but question why they didn’t simply enter themselves and pocket the winnings. Right or wrong, my instincts still flagged it as a scam, so I once more politely declined their overly generous offer and ended the conversation.
