So, I was just sorting out my new HP printer and put my number on their site. Next thing I know, this number rings me up. They started saying my laptop had a virus and offered to fix it for £199 including two years of coverage. I told them to jog on and hung up straight away. Watch out for this one!!

I tried ringing an older family member and got right through to 1572, so I guess it's on the BT blacklist. Seems like BT Call Protect is doing its job! She’s clueless about that HMRC voicemail scam, unlike some other people getting these calls.

Got a call from a recorded message saying it was the UK Police trying to serve a warrant for HMRC. After it finished, there was just silence, so I ended up hanging up before I could even tell them to get lost.

I called, just to see what was going on, and it quickly became clear it was a total scam. They were just fishing for my personal info. Definitely a dodgy scam!

Like others have said, it’s just a recorded message that could scare folks into picking up. Don’t ring them back! HMRC wouldn’t be getting in touch like this, and they’d definitely have sent loads of letters or emails before anything went to court.
