A caller rang me supposedly from the BT IT team about an issue with my internet. They said their name was Susan Matthews and gave me an ID, BT IT 1062, and this phone number 0203 290 8242 to verify them. The whole thing felt so legit, almost like a proper call centre. But when I checked with BT, they never contacted me and there was no reported fault on my line. Thankfully, something didn’t feel right and I didn’t give them any details. If I hadn’t been careful, they probably would’ve tried to access my bank info. Definitely a scam!
