I received a similar call recently. With my Wi-Fi acting up, I thought I’d listen to what he had to say, although something didn’t quite sit right. When he mentioned the number listed above, I pointed out that it had some dodgy reviews associated with it, and lo and behold, he cut the call short! If he were genuinely from BT Openreach, I doubt he’d have reacted that way. He had a decent spiel going, but once it was obvious he wanted to gain access to my computer, I swiftly understood his motives. Just a word of caution - stay vigilant!

I received a rather unsolicited phone call earlier today. The chap on the line claimed to be from BT and mentioned that my router could face some issues. Naturally, I requested to be put through to a supervisor, since I'm not actually on the BT network. Strangely enough, a minute later, the same voice returned, introducing himself as Mark Wilson-quite the quintessential British name, yet his accent didn't quite match up. A couple of hours later, I rang back from a different number and was met with a rather unprofessional "Hello?" which is not how BT operates! Just a word of caution, everyone-stay vigilant!

I just received a phone call from a chap saying he was with BT Openreach, mentioning some sort of alteration at the exchange that supposedly might impact my broadband service. Apparently, engineers were going to be in my area to sort it out. However, when he requested that I perform some actions on my computer, I felt rather uneasy and chose to terminate the conversation. The name he provided was Roger Williams, with an ID number BT00485. I decided to ring my actual broadband provider, and they informed me that it seemed suspicious and that there would be no valid reason for them to request access to my computer at all.

I was informed that it was Openreach who reached out to me regarding an issue with my router. They mentioned some form of compensation but insisted that I must sign in using a particular computer. Quite the hassle, if you ask me!

I received a call from this number purporting to be from BT Openreach, requesting permission to access my computer to 'resolve' some router problems. The person on the other end had a very pronounced Indian accent.
