Today, an individual claiming to be Richard Smith phoned my 73-year-old mum and told her to take out all her savings from her Barclays account. He said she needed to ring him as soon as she was back with the cash, warning her he’d call again if she didn’t answer. Afterwards, he said a courier would come to collect the money. I contacted the police straight away and they directed me to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040. My husband plans to ring the number Richard Smith used and warn him the police are onto him.

Today, an Indian man claiming to be someone named 'Alan Cooper' rang my 87 year old mum and upset her terribly with threats about some Lloyds bank fraud. He actually left his number, so I tried calling back but it just kept ringing with no answer. Then he got in touch again but from a private number. It was clear as day he was a scammer and he ended the call quick when he figured out I wasn’t fooled. I’m planning to take this little git further.

I got a call from this number claiming they were with Barclays Fraud. They wanted me to take out a big chunk of cash from my account to supposedly verify who I was. Felt really dodgy if you ask me.

Someone claiming to be from Natwest Bank called me asking for my information - don't trust them, it's a scam. I've told Natwest about it but honestly, they don't seem to care much.
