Today, a chap going by the name of Richard Smith rang my 73-year-old mother, urging her to take out all her savings from her Barclays account. He insisted she phone him back once she was back home with the cash, mentioning that he would ring again if she didn’t. He also mentioned that a courier would come to collect the money. I've since contacted the police, who provided me with the number for Action Fraud UK: 0300 123 2040. My husband plans to give this Richard Smith fella a bell to inform him that the police are onto his little scheme.

Today, an individual claiming to be 'Alan Cooper'-of Indian descent-decided to ring my elderly mother, who is 87 years young. The sheer nerve of him! He frightened her half to death with his bluster about some sort of fraud linked to her Lloyds account, leaving her in tears, the poor dear. He was brazen enough to leave his number, so I thought I’d give him a bell back. But lo and behold, it just rang incessantly with no one answering. To add insult to injury, he then had the audacity to call from a withheld number! It was glaringly obvious that this was a scam, and as soon as he realised I was onto him, he abruptly hung up. Rest assured, I’m not going to let this obnoxious little scoundrel off the hook easily.

I recently had a call from this number, claiming to be from Barclays Fraud. They requested that I take out substantial amounts of cash from my account as a means to verify my identity. Quite concerning, to say the least!

I received a phone call from someone claiming to be with Natwest Bank, asking for personal information. Whatever you do, don’t share any details-this is a scam! I've already reported it to Natwest, but they appear rather indifferent about it all.

These individuals appear to be targeting the elderly, calling them and requesting their banking information over the phone. It's truly appalling, as it leaves these vulnerable folks quite distressed. I've seen the impact this has had on someone I know, which is why we've taken the step of notifying the police about their dubious activities. It's a disgraceful situation that needs to be addressed.
