I got a phone call about some electrical issues at my home, and they wanted to know if someone would be there the following day for an inspection. They kept pushing for us to hand over the keys, which felt dodgy. So, I told them to deal with the property management instead. I got a call from this number, left a message saying i have to ring them back or they'd start legal stuff against me. I phoned the number from my work phone and some bloke answered saying I was owed a tax rebate from HMRC and then asked for my bank info. I said no thanks in a nice way, and then he just ended the call. Total scam.

I got a call from this number 02082895959 saying I was in some serious trouble with the police because of tax debts. When I rang them back and put it on speaker, the person already knew my name. They then told me I had money owed to me from the tax office that needed to be transferred into my bank account. I told them I'd ring back after checking with the police, they said fine. Suddenly the call just cut off. Total scam, watch out!

Got calls from the 02032895959 number about four times. When I picked up, they claimed to be from HM Revenue and kept insisting I ring them back or I'd face legal trouble. I told them I was recording and had the police with me, and then they hung up straight away. My mate phoned them from her phone and the bloke said his name was John Peterson. We've both blocked the number now.

Just like others have said about the whole 'law suit' thing - if you keep listening, it switches to a voice with an American accent, but 'law suit' is mostly a US term. I'd recommend reporting it on the Action Fraud site - it’s really helpful. Hopefully, those scoundrels will get caught!

On the 5th of September 2018, I found a pretty alarming message on my answerphone. The caller claimed to be from HM Revenue and Customs, saying there’s some kind of legal case against me and asking me to ring them back on 02032895959 before they take further action. I didn’t bother calling them back, obviously. The very next day, the same number called again while I wasn’t at home, but this time they didn’t leave a message. It’s clearly a scam, but I can imagine how unsettling this could be, especially for older folks.

If you’re unsure, it’s best to ring HMRC directly using the contact numbers listed on their official site www.hmrc.gov.uk under Contact us. Never hand out your info if someone calls claiming to be from them. Most of these calls turn out to be scams.

I got a call warning me they'd take legal steps if I didn’t return the call. I usually just let the voicemail pick up, especially if I suspect it’s a scam. But honestly, if you’re an older person living alone, it could be really scary because the voice sounded very firm and serious. Fingers crossed they sort these people out soon!

Got a call claiming there's some sort of case hanging over me and that I needed to ring back right away. At first, I assumed it was connected to my tax self-assessment. I had a quick look at my account and everything appeared to be in order. Definitely felt like a scam.

Got a really scary robo call from someone claiming to be from HMRC, saying I'd been caught up in tax fraud and was on the verge of getting arrested. I rang them back and they claimed they already had my address and I'd be taken in unless I stumped up £1,200 right away. When I asked for evidence and why I hadn’t received any letters before, they just told me it was a new issue they’d only just uncovered and were preparing to press charges - the only escape was to "pay immediately."

I got a voicemail from some caller saying I was under investigation for tax fraud and that I needed to get in touch straight away! They didn't mention any name or details, just spoke like it was for whoever happened to pick up.

Got a call from 02032895959 today. I shouted scam straight away, asked nothing, coz why would I? The bloke on the phone said I was clever for spotting it and warned me not to share any info. Apparently, they’re after loads of money, thousands even, and if you fall for it, you’re in big trouble. Don’t trust any messages they send, it’s all dodgy. Seriously, keep your details safe and don’t hand them over to these lot!

Got a ring from this number, but my voicemail’s off so they didn’t drop a message. Figured it might be legit so I dialled it back, only to get a bloke with an Indian accent claiming he’s from HMRC, with loads of people chatting away in perfect Indian right behind him. I ended up calling them back more than 70 times within 15 minutes just to annoy them. Eventually, they started cursing at me to cut it out! Proper funny!

I got a call from a number linked to ABBAS (UK) LTD. The company’s still active and based at 33 Holman Hunt House, Field Road in London. The director, who’s Pakistani, has been in charge since April 2018. The line itself is with Vodafone, but the number belongs to that company. Just thought it might help someone trying to figure out who they’re dealing with.

I got a robo call from this number saying my name was involved in some kind of fraud case? It really freaked me out. When I rang back, someone picked up with an Indian accent, sounded like they were working at a call centre. I didn’t say a word and just hung up straight away.
