This number isn’t a scam, it actually helped me when I needed it.

Typical quiet while the automated system hooked up. Then a pleasant sounding Asian woman claiming to be from some 'energy firm' asking if I’m the person in charge. I said I wasn’t interested, and she then asked 'how much do you shell out for energy each week?' I just ended the call then.

Got a call from an Asian woman claiming to be from some electricity and gas firm, she wanted to talk to the manager. I told her sharply he wasn’t around and she just ended the call. Outcome.

They kept ringing about Gas & Electric bills. When I said I wasn’t interested, the person told me to “shut up”. I got calls from them loads of times. Eventually, a woman called Tara said she was based in London. I asked for her mobile so I could invite her out, but she gave me a made-up number. I phoned her “London” landline again and we spoke a bit more before she put me through to her manager who said he was in “Birmingham”. I could still hear Tara chatting in the background. Sounds like a huge call centre. Total scammers.

Isn't it a bit odd that this all coincided with me searching for car insurance quotes online? Just feels rather peculiar, doesn’t it?

I had a couple of calls from this number today, but when I answered, there was nobody there. At the age of 80 and not feeling my best, I really can't do with this sort of hassle. I would love to know how I can put a stop to it, especially since I'm already signed up with the Telephone Preference Service. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've received such calls.

The person on the phone said they got my number from the Hospital or my GP. I told them there is no way the hospital or GP would share my private info but they just kept insisting. They said they worked for "Accident mgmt uk" and gave a supposed company address as N183QH in London plus a phone number 02032895922. They even gave me a dodgy website link. After I kept asking for proper proof, they eventually got annoyed and said, "You're just wasting my time," and hung up. What a joke!!

Someone from the Accident Investigation Department rang me claiming they had info from hospital and insurance files proving I’d been in an accident within the past couple of years. They wanted me to confirm it - I told them they probably didn’t need me to confirm seeing as they seemed to have all the details, maybe even more than I did! Every time they asked something, I just asked who exactly they worked for and their contact number. Eventually they thanked me for my time and just ended the call!

Our workplace has received a handful of calls from this number, purportedly linked to an accident claims firm. Each time they mention something about 'your incident'-I found it best to simply end the call. They’ve rung back several times, but when I answer, it’s as if I’m met with silence, only for them to disconnect. Quite baffling, really!

This lot have called our workplace about 30-40 times this week, going through every number one after the other. When you answer, there’s always a pause while a dialling bot links you up with some random person with an Indian-accent. They then ask for info about "your accident", pretending to be aware of a real incident when they don’t even know the name of who they’re after. Honestly, it feels like a scam to gather and sell your personal data. My advice? Just hang up straight away or mess with them for a laugh.

This number has been ringing my phone around six times daily. Quite relentless, if you ask me!

I’ve been receiving two calls daily from this number. I’ve informed them that I’ve never been involved in any incident, and they insisted it wasn’t meant for me. I mentioned that no one in my circle has had any mishaps, aside from the kids tumbling down the last step, which they seemed to seize upon. They simply wouldn’t let it go. Honestly, kids will be kids - their clumsiness doesn’t warrant a claim! I used to be a director, and that seems to make no difference to them. Now, I just let the answering machine deal with them.

They keep callin over and over but whenever I pick up, no one’s there. I tried callin the number I got from 1471 loads of times as well but it never got an answer apart from once when it went to an answerphone. The message was a woman speakin with a foreign accent.

This number kept calling about a crash I wasn't involved in. Told them my name’s Charles Windsor, Reg No HRH2 0K, and said the accident was on April 1st, plus a load of other nonsense. Fingers crossed I might get some sort of payout ??

I chose to keep my thoughts to myself and patiently waited for her to speak. A woman with an Asian accent, amidst the clatter of what sounded like a bustling office, introduced herself as being from the "accident investigation department." She claimed her records indicated that someone in my home had experienced an accident within the past two years. I simply replied with a firm "no" and fell silent again, awaiting her next words. It turned out she must have dialled a wrong number, as she politely wished me well for the rest of the day. I responded with, "Cheers for that! I'm off to try my luck at fishing; hopefully, I’ll land a few bites!"

I can’t tell if these people are having a joke with using super outdated names or if they grabbed a list of English guys’ Christian names from way back, like the 1930s or something. I was just called by someone named “Albert” rattling on about car crash claims and all that jazz, then he handed me over to a boss named “Frank.” Absolutely priceless! - caller: Compensation

I picked up the phone, only to be greeted by utter silence, followed by a pre-recorded voice that simply chirped 'Goodbye'. Who on earth could that be? It's rather unsettling, really. One can't help but wonder if they're fishing for our personal details. Could it be yet another sneaky cold caller or perhaps even something dodgier, like a scam aimed at pinching identities? Rest assured, I shan't be answering that number ever again!

Got a call earlier from a bloke with a strong Indian accent, barely made out what he was trying to say. He claimed my number popped up due to some accident supposedly involving me in the past three years. When I asked for details about the car or how he got my number, he was clueless and couldn’t even name our address, which is funny since we’re ex-directory. I told him straight away that he was trying to scam me and then just ended the call!

It seems that this chap with an Asian accent goes by the name of Derek Walton! I explained to him that the number is ex-directory and registered with the Telephone Preference Service, and that cold calling is against the law, yet he persisted without any sign of understanding. I'm at a bit of a loss as to what steps to take next.

I received a rather dubious call from someone claiming to be a Microsoft technician wanting to fix my computer! He introduced himself as Steve, claiming he was part of Microsoft, yet the number was international and his accent was unmistakably Indian. When I confronted him about his authenticity, he swiftly hung up on me! It’s quite astonishing how bold these scammers are, isn’t it?

I dunno who was ringing but I always just say “hi wrong number, looking for a taxi?” whenever i get calls from unknown numbers. They usually hang up straight away and after a couple tries they stop calling. Works pretty well for me lol

Been getting loads of calls from this number, always some bloke with an Asian accent saying I’ve been in an accident or summat. I kept asking where he got my details from and warned him if he rings again I’ll report him to the police. As soon as I said that, he just hung up. Proper annoying now, can’t take it anymore!

I've been receiving calls from this number several times over the past week. I chose not to pick up, as a quick search revealed it to be a tedious cold call. Despite being on the Telephone Preference Service, these unwanted calls keep on coming. It's incredibly frustrating!

Got three calls this past week, all about accident claim assessments. The people on the phone spoke with a heavy Indian accent but used British names (could be true tho). I’ve just blocked the number since I’m on the TPS list and these calls still keep coming.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent, claiming he was with Fred Wilson, some kind of solicitor. He said it was about a car crash involving me or someone in my family within the past couple of years. I never gave him my name or any personal stuff, but managed to get them to mention a postcode - N18 3QH, which I think is up around North London. They also said something about Unit 1. I wasted about five minutes with them before I told them straight up they were con artists and scammers, then ended the call.

I got a missed call from this number while I was already talking on my phone. When I rang back, a woman with an accent that sounded East Asian picked up, but when I told her I was calling back the number that had called me, she just cut me off straight away. Feels dodgy to me, like some kind of insurance scam or those ambulance chasing types. Would just steer clear of it.

Got loads of calls that just cut off straight away, but yesterday I finally spoke to a 'supervisor' called Victor. Asked him how they got my info and he said Accident Claims Management (ACM), some government place in Manchester, gave it to them. He gave me a number, 01614080000, but no one picks up. Obviously, there’s no govt department by that name. When I looked into it more, turns out the London and Manchester numbers are just Skype lines, so I bet the callers are actually based in India.

It's crazy how they can't even tell if a number is from a house or a company, like this one clearly is. I picked up and there was this weird silence for a few seconds, then I heard what sounded like a busy call centre before some bloke with an English accent just said "hello." I wasn’t in the mood for their rubbish, so I just ended the call.

No voicemail left because I let the answerphone pick up first to see if I actually know who’s calling. I reckon it’s one of those random calls pestering folks with annoying cold calls. I’m switching to SKY next week and will have a new number, and the best way I’ve found to deal with these is to shout “FU** OFF” loud and clear. Might be rude, but those silent, unwanted calls are just as bad, especially when you’re on the TPS list. They’re proper nuisances!

This bloke, Asian, about 66, came up with the usual accident story I told him it was all rubbish and probably a scam. He mentioned he’d get his boss on the line, so I just switched to Sky channel 800 and left on this Pakistan religious debate for him to hear. They ended the call pretty quick after that.

Got a call from this number about some kinda accident, not sure what exactly. I kept asking who'd been involved but no one would talk, just ended up hanging up. So, I thought I'd mess around a bit and kept calling them back, asking the same thing. Now, they just ignore my calls completely. Bit of a weird situation really.

I received a call from this number earlier today and, upon answering, there was complete silence on the other end. This isn't the first instance of this happening, to be honest. I suspect it might be a company of some sort, but I fail to see how they can justify making these persistent cold calls. After browsing through the comments here, it seems I'm not alone in my concerns-many others share similar grievances. It baffles me that action hasn't yet been taken to address this issue. It's rather alarming for those who might be more vulnerable, which underscores the necessity for some sort of intervention against this ongoing nuisance.

Got two calls from this number today. The first was a lady with a strong Indian accent, said she was looking into an accident I supposedly had, but it was really hard to catch what she was saying and she just dropped the call. Then about an hour later a bloke called, claimed he was from Accident Claims UK Ltd and gave me the same spiel. When I asked where he got my details from, he said some accident was reported using my number. After a bit of back and forth, I asked if he knew about the TPS. He immediately ended the call! My phone buzzed but went quiet as soon as I answered, then they just hung up. Seeing what others have said here makes me think it might be the same lot behind those ‘Accident Investigation Department’ calls we’ve had before. Depending on how I’m feeling, I either mess around with them or just hang up straight away. Had one bloke get really rude and threatening once. Pretty sure a couple of times they’ve even called back in the dead of night to wake us up after I annoyed them earlier - so watch out, people.

02032895922 I ignored the call, but it seems they call from all kinds of numbers claiming there was a car crash. If you’re bored, try sticking it out and ask them over and over when the accident happened. Keep at it and they might put you through to a manager. Then, just keep asking that person the same question about the accident date. Eventually, they’ll get annoyed and just hang up on you.

Received a call today at half past five, and after a brief pause-probably some international call centre connection-an Asian fellow introducing himself as "John" claimed he was from the 'Road Traffic Department'. I couldn't help but retort, "Nonsense, mate, what do you want?" He then dived straight into a routine spiel about investigating a road traffic incident. At that juncture, I interjected, "You’re not, and you shouldn’t be ringing this number, which is both ex-directory and registered with the TPS." Both statements are indeed accurate. I firmly instructed him not to contact me again before terminating the call.

Within just an hour, my elderly mum got two calls - one claiming there was some car crash she was involved in and another saying there was a telephone investigation going on.
