Early this morning, I got a call from a woman with an Indian or Pakistani accent warning me that my internet was under threat. When I tried to find out who she was, she started threatening to cut off my phone line. I pressed her for more info and she snapped back saying she’d block my line, then finished by calling me an idiot. Getting a call like that, especially from 02032895166, first thing in the day, is really unpleasant and feels downright abusive. I’d say this was blatant harassment.

I received a call from this number today, and the person on the other end was a woman speaking with a South Asian accent. I didn’t catch everything she was saying, but she seemed to be inquiring about my broadband speed. I mentioned that it was perfectly fine and then ended the conversation.

So first this woman rings me, going on about my BT broadband being at risk or something, but I’m not even with BT so I just ended the call. Then a bloke called me next, sounded like he had the same accent and was chuckling while saying the exact same thing. I told him straight off to explain how he got my number because I’m on the TPS list and it’s illegal to cold call me. He just cut me off right away.

Got a random ring from some bloke with a South Asian accent claiming he was ‘Alex’ from the ‘BT cyber security team’. Said my IP had been compromised - classic dodgy scam. Problem is, I’m not even with BT! If you’re gonna fake it, at least come up with a better story. Made sure to add the number to my block list straight away.
