I got a call from a 0300 number and it was definitely a scam. Honestly, just ignore it and hang up straight away. HMRC don’t ring you up like that, they always send letters first and you can always double check by contacting them yourself. Loads of scammers out there hoping to trick you into paying up. If it’s an automated voice, just end the call. If it’s a person, just tell them to buzz off.

I got a robo call with a woman’s voice saying I’m being looked into by HMRC for dodging taxes and I needed to ring a certain mobile number. When I called back, it was some Asian call centre trying to scam me out of money. Total rubbish, watch out!

You should definitely report this to Action Fraud. Someone's pretending to be from HMRC claiming there’s a warrant out for my arrest, using the exact same case number for loads of people. It’s really odd. The number they’re calling from isn’t even an official HMRC one, plus why on earth would HMRC ring me up about something like that?

My dad just got scammed out of 400 quid by these awful people, it’s so heartbreaking. Luckily, I had a bad feeling about it and checked this site straight away. Thankfully, I managed to cancel the One4All card before they could use the money. What’s worse, they kept him on the line for an hour and a half while he was at the post office. Got a call a moment ago from 02032894141 claiming I had an arrest warrant. They said they were calling from Parliament Street in London, which I know is where HMRC’s main office is. They gave the names Eric WATSON and Jordan JACKSON. Weirdly, as soon as I told them I’m a Met police officer and would pop round in ten minutes, they just ended the call.
