Had a really unsettling message from this number, just like what others have said. It was pretty threatening and honestly quite worrying to get. Surprised they’re claiming to be HMRC - I wonder if HMRC are even aware of this? Definitely going to block them.

Got loads of calls from this number but ignored them. Eventually I checked and found a voicemail left by someone with an American accent saying to get in touch with 'Officer Clare Williams' about an urgent issue from HMRC needing my solicitor’s info. Bit sketchy if you ask me.

02032892819 Seeing these comments just confirms why I always ignore calls from numbers I don’t recognise. Honestly, if by some miracle someone rings with good news and I miss it, that’s a risk I’m fine taking. My advice? Just don’t pick up unknown calls, full stop. We managed alright before mobiles were even around, so it’s not like it’s a new world without answering every ring.

Today, my wife received a call on her mobile from this number, which was followed by a rather alarming voicemail. The message was purportedly from Claire Williams, claiming to represent HMRC. She went on to insinuate that if my wife or her solicitor didn’t return the call, there could be some serious legal repercussions. Initially, it was a phone call, then the automated voice message kicked in. Quite dodgy, I must say!

They've rung me a few times before, but I just ignored it this time.

Got a call earlier from this number and later received a voicemail. It was an automated message with an American accent claiming it was from HMRC. The message warned me not to ignore it or else there would be legal trouble. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

I got a call from Claire Williams, and when I rang back, I ended up speaking to a bloke called John Parker. He told me I owed nearly £4700 in unpaid tax and said there was gonna be a warrant out for my arrest, plus they’d seize my passport and throw me in jail. I told him I hadn’t had any letters or messages about owing tax, but then he asked how much money I had in my bank. I wasn’t sure, so he told me to check at the cash machine and pay up straight away. He said if I did that, he’d talk to the Supreme Court and get the warrant cancelled. It all felt pretty dodgy to me.

I got a call on my mobile and picked up, but as soon as I did, the call just dropped. I rang them back (probably shouldn't have) and ended up hearing a recorded voice saying it was from HMRC. I hung up straight away. Definitely a scam.

I rang 02032892819 just now, and some bloke with an Indian accent answered. He started going on about tax investigations or something dodgy like that. Pretty sure it's a scam, especially since my company sorts out all my tax stuff in-house. Definitely not legit!

I had the same thing happen to me, just like other folks mention here. It was some automated call, total scam. My phone tried to block it but somehow it ended up leaving a voicemail anyway. They were saying I owed taxes or something daft like that. Honestly, don’t waste your time calling them back. They’re just after your money. These kinds of calls should definitely be shut down. It’s a total disgrace.

Got the same voicemail as everyone else here, telling me about 'consequences' if I don't respond. Honestly, BLOCKED them straight away. How do these lot think it's okay to leave threatening messages on peoples' answerphones? Proper dodgy stuff, feels really unsafe. Wouldn’t put up with it for a second.

I just got a call from this, seriously, it’s ridiculous that they’re still allowed to operate. Why hasn’t anyone shut this down yet?

Got a call from 0203 289 2819, a landline, with an automated message from someone saying they were Claire Williams from HMRC. The line was really poor and I couldn't catch everything they said, but they told me to ring back straight away or there'd be serious consequences. Seems like it could scare folks or make them feel under pressure. I'm planning to report this to the right people.
