Got an email that was pretty threatening and it had this phone number on it. I looked up the company online and gave them a ring. Turns out, it's all a scam, and loads of people are getting hit with fake calls pretending to be from them.

Watch out! Got calls from different 'loan companies' but it's all a scam. Just wanted to give a heads up so no one falls for it like me. Stay safe!

This was a scam for sure. After I said no to sharing info, the person claiming to be from HMRC started getting really rude.

I’ve had this number ringing me non-stop, probably around 10 times every day. I never pick up and block it whenever it calls, but somehow it just keeps coming back. I’m honestly thinking about just getting a new phone number at this point.

They keep ringing non stop!

They rang a few times but never left a voicemail, so it’s probably nothing urgent.

Got a call from this number earlier, and it was some automated voice claiming it was HMRC. They said I owed loads of money and had to ring them right away. Then it gave a different phone number to call, not this one. I wasn’t prepared, so I couldn’t note it down in time. Don’t fall for this rubbish, it’s definitely a scam.

Absolutely, this is a brazen scam! They'll often try to lure you into dialling a premium rate number. Just keep your wits about you and you’ll spot the signs. For starters, they rarely address you by name. Plus, if it were really the HMRC contacting you, they would send a letter beforehand with your details included. It's just not how official matters are handled!

I've received a call purporting to be from HMRC, requesting a callback to a specific number. Be wary, as it's a scam! HMRC won't reach out through automated messages and certainly won't reference your name. Stay vigilant!

If it was really HMRC, they’d send a letter before calling you. Don’t fall for it, they’re just trying to get you onto a premium line - total scam.

Got a voicemail from someone saying they were from HMRC, threatening me with legal trouble and saying it was my final warning. The bloke was useless, couldn’t make out what he was saying at all. When I rang back, he started asking which phone number the message was left on - my mobile, obviously - and then wanted my name. I tried to explain things slowly, like using the phonetic alphabet but he clearly didn’t get even basic letters. In the end, I got fed up and he just hung up on me. Proper rubbish.

I got a call from some bloke claiming he had a £700 refund for me and wanted my debit card info. I began telling him my bank account number, but then he insisted on the 16 digits from the card itself. I told him I had to verify with HMRC first, and suddenly he got all hostile and started threatening me, even saying he knew my address. I’m proper angry about it!!

I just had a call like that, some bloke claiming to be Officer Nick from HMRC or something like that. Seems like he grabbed my info off Facebook or wherever. He told me my name was linked to some high court thing, which sounded dodgy as hell. I just told him I'd ring back and hung up. I’m pretty sure HMRC always sends a letter first before doing anything serious, so don’t freak out if you get a call like this. Just be careful!

I’ve recently received a rather alarming call on my mobile purporting to be from HMRC, threatening me with some sort of action. This marks the second time I've been contacted in roughly three months. On both instances, the call quality was quite dreadful-filled with static and interference, almost as if it were being made from afar. The person on the other end had an accent that seemed to be either Asian or Indian. It certainly didn’t feel like a local call. During the first call, I asked them to confirm my National Insurance number, and they hung up immediately. This time around, they attempted to give me some information, but when I expressed my belief that it sounded suspiciously like a scam, they promptly terminated the call once again. The number that appeared on my phone this time was 020 3287 9395.

Absolutely a fraudulent call! They pretended to be from HMRC, stating that an arrest warrant was issued against me and suggested that I could settle the matter without going to court. They provided the following details: Case Reference: 7851274 Name: Susan Smith Staff ID: 404412 It's quite alarming to encounter such deceitful tactics!

Got a dodgy call from someone pretending to be HMRC. I put it on speaker and just let the bloke drone on for a good 15 minutes. Eventually I told him that HMRC don’t ring from 020 numbers or call to say you’re under investigation. After he finished his whole spiel, I said how it was total rubbish, and he threatened me saying “wait and see, if you don’t speak to me, you’ll get a proper call in 2 hours, £1500 fine!” Absolutely daft.

I got a voicemail from this number but the message was proper hard to understand. The person said something about legal trouble if I didn't pay some money to HMRC or something. I was pretty sure it was a scam, so I searched the number online to check if anyone else had the same dodgy calls and stumbled upon this site.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC, and they actually knew my address! They started threatening me with police involvement and said there was a warrant for my arrest over an unpaid tax bill.
