Got a call from a guy speaking with a strong Indian accent, said he was ringing from BT and was checking on our internet connection. He mentioned that the service was getting worse and that BT supplied the backbone for pretty much every other company - he rattled off names like Virgin, EE, Talktalk and the rest. Thing is, we don’t even have internet here, but he didn’t seem to get that at all. After about 3 minutes 48 seconds, he just hung up on me out of nowhere. Sounded like a scam, probably trying to phish for info.

I got a call from a woman claiming to be with BT, telling me my internet speed was slow. I did a speed check which showed 150Mb per second, so I wasn’t impressed. She asked me to download some app, but I declined and ended the call. Then she called again, and I just told her off for being a scammer and told her to buzz off!

Some bloke called claiming he was from BT and tried to talk me through steps to let him take over my laptop. I played along, saying nothing showed up on my screen. Then I said I felt a bit dodgy and said I needed a break. While he waited, I actually popped to the kitchen to make a tea. When I came back, he was still there on the line, saying he’d get his supervisor to help me out. Then a woman jumped on the call and went through the same script. I kept pretending to do what she said. After about half an hour I got fed up and just told her, “Look, this is a waste of time, I know you’re trying to scam me,” and she hung up. Both had Asian accents, by the way.

I received a call purporting to be from BT Broadband, and it turned out to be a dodgy operation based in India. They were all on about my router supposedly "transmitting unlawful messages" and insisted it needed urgent fixing. Would you believe it? They wanted me to install Teamviewer on my computer, enabling them to remotely access my device! I wasn’t fooled for a moment, so I kept chatting with him just to drag things out and waste his time. Absolute nonsense!

Some bloke called sayin he was from BT, said they can’t get my wi-fi signal or summat. He told me to look at the router lights and asked if my phone was connected. Quite odd really.

Got a call from someone saying they were Virgin Media about some internet problems. Definitely a scam, so best thing to do is just put the phone down straight away.

Got a call from someone who said his name was Oliver and that he was with BT. He seemed pretty convincing at first, but when I asked for his actual name and the real company he was representing, he just hung up on me.

Got a call from some guy with an Indian accent claiming he worked for BT Openreach. He said there'd been some "dangerous flags" detected from my broadband to their servers recently. Problem is, I don't even have BT as my internet provider, so I just ended the call. Then he rang back about an hour later and I hung up on him straight away again.

Somebody said they was from Virgin when they rang me. Seemed a bit dodgy, to be honest.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming she was from BT broadband. When I asked her for my name and account details, she couldn’t answer, so I just ended the call. She then tried to convince me to go onto my laptop and install something called TeamViewer. When I checked out the site, McAfee popped up a warning saying something like “this site lets others control or see your device.” Definitely felt off.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming she was from BT broadband. When I asked for my account details and name, she couldn’t provide anything so I just ended the call. She also tried to persuade me to open my laptop and download something called teamviewer. When I checked the site, McAfee gave me a heads up saying “this site can let others control or see your device.” Definitely looked dodgy to me.

Sounds like a total scam to me. They rang up saying they were from Virgin Media and that my broadband was acting up. Thing is, I don’t even have Virgin Media as my internet provider.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with BT Broadband, but the guy, calling himself "John Smith," had a strong Indian accent and his English was pretty poor. Definitely not legit. I kept him on the line and messed about for about 6 minutes. Total con job, for sure.

Got about four calls from this number earlier today. Picked up the first one but there was no one on the line. Then it called me again and when I answered, they just dropped the call. Definitely seems like some kind of scam.

For sure a scam. I could hear loads of chatting in the background, but it wasn’t in English or anything I recognised. Then this woman rings up saying she’s from Virgin about my broadband. I told her straight up there’s no way, cause I don’t even have Virgin internet. Finished it by telling her to fuck off nicely!

I got a call from someone pretending to be BT OpenReach, said they were from London. Thing is, the caller sounded like an Indian call centre and said "good morning" even though it was 3 PM here! Definite scam alert.

Got a call from someone who didn’t say a word - pretty sure it was one of those spam robots just blasting out numbers to anyone they can. Honestly, can't imagine doing that all day as a job. These nuisances really deserve a proper punishment for the trouble they bring everyone.

Phone number 0203 287 9347 rang our landline earlier claiming to be from Open Reach, saying there was an issue with our broadband router. I was skeptical and didn't share any personal details. They asked me to switch on my PC and enter a website address, but I refused straight away. When I suggested they send an engineer to check, they said they don’t do that and kept pushing for the website. I stood my ground and ended the call. I tried calling the number back later and it just kept ringing with no answer - pretty obvious scam if you ask me. Watch out for this one!

Didn't even let the call go through, hung up straight away. I mean, I haven't got mates in London who'd ring my old landline that's not listed anywhere.

I got a call from some guy speaking with an accent, saying there was an issue with our internet. Honestly, how do these scams even work? What's their end game, making cash somehow? It's crazy they’re still going on, why aren’t these calls just blocked already?
