She mentioned that my broadband would be disconnected for three days and requested remote access to my computer. Thankfully, my instincts kicked in, and I told her I was occupied at the moment. She then provided me with the number 02032872861 to ring back when I was free. Unsurprisingly, I’ve not followed up on her request, and my internet connection remains perfectly intact. Just a heads up, everyone-be cautious of this scam!BT10 yearsEarlier today, I got a rather dubious phone call from a woman with an Asian accent, claiming to represent BT. She warned me that they were planning to suspend my broadband for two to three days due to my IP address being, supposedly, compromised. Naturally, I expressed my discontent and insisted on verifying who she was affiliated with. She promised to confirm all my BT details, yet failed to do so, instead providing a number-0203 287 2861-to call back for verification. After a bit more back and forth, she insisted that I switch on my computer so she could guide me to connect to a server to maintain my internet access while the supposed outage occurred. I firmly declined, asserting that I wouldn't engage in any such actions based on a random call from a stranger. Curiously enough, she hung up right after! Since then, I’ve received three additional calls from them-four in total within just a couple of hours.
