Today I had a call from this number here in New Zealand. Some guy claiming to be Peter Williams from India. Sure, I don’t buy it.

Today, I got a call from someone named "Peter Williams" who spoke with a thick Indian accent. He claimed to be from BT Broadband and said my IP address was being used for some dodgy activities. I rang BT directly afterwards, and they told me it was a scam.

Today (2/6/17) I got a call from someone claiming to be from BT IT, said his name was Riensinum Ssaw and that he worked at 82 Newgate Rd, London. He gave me an ID number, 15198007, saying my BT internet was at risk and I'd get cut off if I didn’t let him fix it. He wanted me to ring him back on 0203 287 1617, but I told him no and he kept pushing me to call him from my mobile instead. I knew their ID was off because BT numbers normally have 9 digits, not 8. This is definitely a scam, these lowlifes need to be tracked down and dealt with. Loads of folks might get fooled by these sorts of calls. Please, if you get something like this, just hang up and call your internet provider directly to check. Bob from Kent.

Got a phone call from a bloke named Albert Cooper claiming he worked for BT's Tech Support. He told me my internet was acting up and offered to link into my PC to reveal some virus and malware issues behind it. When I asked for proof, he threw out a BT ID Card number, said it was 4121. Also gave me an office number: 02032871617, saying I could call that any time to report broadband problems or faults. Honestly, I'm not convinced he’s really from BT. Something about it felt dodgy.

Got a call from someone called Peter Williams speaking with an Indian accent on this number. He said he wanted to close my line because of some hackers. I told him I’d have our IT guy call him back. Definitely don’t reckon this has anything to do with BT.

Received a phone call earlier from someone saying they were George Watson from BT, telling me they had to turn off my internet for 10 days due to some hacking issues. When I asked for a contact number to verify, he gave me this same number. The bloke spoke with an Indian accent and the caller ID showed it was international. I ended the call straight away. But then, when I tried calling back, the same person picked up again and said they were from BT's IT team.
