This number rang me earlier today here in New Zealand. An Indian fellow claimed his name was Peter Williams. Sounds a bit fishy, doesn't it?

I recently received a phone call from someone claiming to be "Peter Williams," who spoke with quite a pronounced Indian accent. He told me he was ringing on behalf of BT Broadband, warning me that my IP address had been hacked and was being misused for nefarious activities. Naturally, I didn’t just take his word for it and reached out to BT directly. They clarified that the call was indeed a scam. Be cautious, everyone!

I received an unexpected phone call earlier today (2nd June 2017) from an individual claiming to be part of BT's IT department based at 82 Newgate Road, London. He introduced himself as Riensinum Ssaw and provided an ID number that was supposedly 15198007. He went on to assert that my BT internet had been tampered with and that I'd face disconnection if I didn't allow him to assist me. I decided against ringing him back on the number 0203 287 1617, yet he kept badgering me to call him from my mobile. Quite suspiciously, I noted that the ID he supplied ought to have been a nine-digit number. This is clearly a dodgy scam, and it's appalling to think these lowlifes are out there manipulating unsuspecting individuals. I'm certain that some might fall victim to their tactics. If you happen to receive such a call, please don’t engage; simply hang up. And if you're uncertain, it's wise to get in touch with your legitimate internet provider. Cheers, Bob from Kent

I recently received a phone call from someone named Albert Cooper, who claimed to represent the BT Technical Department. He mentioned that there were issues with my internet connection and offered to assist by accessing my computer to demonstrate some viruses and malware that were supposedly the cause. When I questioned him further, he provided a BT ID Card Number, which he stated was 4121. He also gave me a contact number for his office - 02032871617 - assuring me that I could call it anytime to report faults or issues with my broadband service. To be honest, I have my doubts about his legitimacy; I really don't believe he is associated with BT at all.

I recently received a call from a chap named Peter Williams, who had a distinctly Indian accent, using this number. He claimed there were hackers trying to compromise our line and that he needed to shut it down. I informed him that we would have our IT consultant return his call instead. To be honest, I seriously doubt this has anything to do with BT.

Received a rather dubious call earlier supposedly from a chap named George Watson, who claimed to be with BT. He mentioned something about needing to suspend my internet for a full ten days due to some hacking shenanigans-quite the alarming proposition! When I requested a contact number to verify his legitimacy, he supplied me with this one. I couldn’t help but notice his accent had Indian undertones, and the caller ID displayed as international. At that moment, I decided to cut the conversation short. Upon attempting to return the call, lo and behold, the very same voice greeted me again, insisting he was with BT's IT department. Quite fishy, if you ask me!
