My elderly aunt, who’s a sprightly 79, just fell victim to a nasty scam involving £280 worth of Ukash vouchers. The culprits, going by the names James Carter and Thomas Finchback, spun her a tale that mirrored the first account I read on this site. Initially, they claimed a commission of 10%, but that figure mysteriously inflated to 25% as they continued their deceitful spiel. Fortunately, the folks at the Coop Bank intervened and put a stop to her purchasing any further vouchers, warning her that she was being conned! It's such a shame that she now has to cope with this expensive lesson learned the hard way.

I recently received a voicemail from this number, claiming to be from the London County Court. They mentioned having a cheque for £2800 regarding a PPI claim that I supposedly hadn't initiated. They were keen to arrange a courier delivery for it. Out of curiosity, I called them back; the gentleman on the line asked for my name and assured me an agent would get in touch soon after. However, after doing a bit of digging and landing on this site, I’m feeling rather sceptical. No callback has come through yet, but I get the sense they might think twice about reaching out again.

Received a rather dodgy call today from a chap named James Carter, claiming I had secured a PPI payout and there was a cheque for £2460 just waiting for me. All they required was for me to purchase £246 worth of UKash vouchers, ring this number, and they would dispatch a courier with the cheque. Afterwards, I’d just need to wait for the funds to clear before they’d come back to collect the vouchers. I was nearly taken in by it all, but thankfully my partner suggested I look up the number online and lo and behold, it's listed as a scam!

I received a call from someone claiming they had a cheque for my brother from POO, but insisted that he must phone this number using his mobile.
