My elderly aunt, who’s 79, got tricked out of £280 on ukash vouchers by these two lads, James Carter and Thomas Finchback. It’s just like the first tale on here. At first, they said the fee was only 10%, but then it jumped to 25%. Luckily, the co-op bank noticed and stopped her from getting any more vouchers, telling her straight it was a total con! It’s a right shame, she’s paid a heavy price for trusting them.

Got a voicemail from this number claiming to be from London County Court, saying I was owed £2800 from a PPI claim I never made. They mentioned sending a cheque by courier and asked to sort out delivery. I rang them back, gave my name, and was told an agent would call me soon. After looking up the number here, I saw the warnings. They never called again, but if they do, I’m not sure I’ll be as trusting.

Today I got a call from someone called James Carter claiming I'd won a PPI claim with a cheque for £2460 ready to be sent. All he asked was for me to buy £246 worth of Ukash vouchers and call them back. He told me a courier would deliver the cheque and once it cleared they’d collect the voucher codes. I was almost convinced until my partner convinced me to look the number up online, and sure enough, it’s listed as a scam! Really dodged a bullet there.
