4 yearsI received a rather suspicious call today, purportedly from UK Tariff, claiming that Sky customers like myself have been charged too much and they were keen to verify my payment history. When they probed about any recent changes to my account, I simply mentioned that as my account is fairly new, there hadn't been any adjustments. Then they inquired about how long I've held the account, which I found a tad intrusive and chose not to divulge that information. When I questioned their legitimacy, they seemed taken aback and replied, “Well, how DO you know who I am? I’m ringing from UK Tariff.” I insisted that I had no means to confirm their identity and expressed my disinterest in their schemes. It was then that I promptly hung up. Upon looking into the number afterwards, I noticed it was affiliated with various Royal Mail calls. Who on earth would send such a massive item without prior notice? Not to mention, there was no shipping fee covered! I promptly told her that was utterly ridiculous, and she simply thanked me and ended the call! I strongly suspect this is a scam. They may have been fishing for my card information. Honestly, do they think we're all complete fools?5 yearsI recently received a rather dubious phone call claiming it was from Royal Mail regarding a parcel addressed to me. Out of curiosity, I inquired how they obtained my phone number, to which the caller replied it was from the sender. Naturally, I pressed for more information and asked for the sender's name, but she only mentioned some initials-AR-nothing more. I pointed out the obvious contradiction in her story: how could she have my number from someone she didn’t even know? It felt like a major scam right from the get-go!
