I received a call not too dissimilar the other day from a chap with an Indian accent claiming to represent BT’s Service Support team. He was keen for me to access my computer to illustrate some supposed error messages that indicated my broadband was under threat from hackers. I wasn't having any of it, as my gut said something was off. When I expressed my scepticism, he cleverly suggested I ring a number and he'd return the call. Instead, I took it upon myself to reach out to BT directly to alert them, and lo and behold, it was indeed a scam. Turns out, he was just a digital fraudster!
