I played along for a bit but ended the call pretty quick. I replied Yes - even though I’ve never had an HSBC account. Then the phone rang, and a very posh English bloke started asking all these questions, just like a proper bank call would sound. But I knew straight away it was a con since I don't bank with HSBC. After a while, I got fed up pretending and told him he was a scammer. His response? “Ha ha, you fat ****, go suck a dick!” It’s depressing to realise it’s not just foreigners trying to scam us nowadays - it’s some English muppets too.
