Got a call from someone claiming they wanted to hand out £1000 for free. If only that were legit! You’ve gotta remember, anything that sounds too good to be true probably is.

Got a call supposedly about a government scheme where I’d have to pay £110 to get £1000. Some bloke picked up the phone but couldn’t give me any info on his company or licence. When I kept pressing him for details, he snapped at me, telling me to stop asking and swore he wasn’t messing about. I asked him to say it again three times because I was gobsmacked, and he went on with the same rude response. In the end, he admitted he wasn’t even part of a company.

I got a call from this number earlier, the person on the line had an Indian accent. They said my phone was picked randomly to win £1000. They gave me a reference number and said I had to call them back to claim the money, but yeah, no way I’m calling them again. Seems dodgy to me.

It’s pretty obvious this is a con, they claim you get free cash from the government just by winning some phone number lottery.
