Got a call from this number saying I had an arrest warrant from HMRC. I knew it was dodgy so I told both the Police and Action Fraud about it. Definitely a scam, don’t bother calling back! 02032864544

Has anyone actually dialled that number? Would be funny if there was a way to send a virus right back to whoever’s calling. Tried it yet?

I received a call meant for my mum, claiming that she was under arrest. This really distressed her, especially as she's an elderly lady who’s already battling a terminal illness. It’s utterly shameful to exploit someone in such a vulnerable state.

On the 10th of October, I saw 19 calls reported, and including the one we got, that makes 20! I bet there’s way more happening, especially aimed at older folks. There really ought to be some kind of way to put a stop to these.

I got a voicemail from some automated system claiming HMRC has filed a complaint against me. They said there's a warrant for my arrest, even gave some case number, and warned it's about to be enforced. Total rubbish, but still scary to hear!

Got a message left on my voicemail, total rubbish. Does anyone actually take action against these calls?

This afternoon, I received a rather formal automated call, delivered in a rather refined accent by a gentleman who sounded distinctly upper-crust. The rather alarming message alleged that there was an arrest warrant issued against me by the UK Police in connection with some supposed issue involving the Inland Revenue. To stave off being carted away by the authorities, they urged me to ring back on 02032864544-the very number from which they had called me. Given that I’m now enjoying my retirement and no longer file income tax returns, I can’t help but think this is nothing more than a dodgy scam.

Got a voicemail from a man with a very clear English accent, saying he was from the police and warning me about a supposed court case linked to the Inland Revenue. He gave me what sounded like a court reference number and told me to ring a 0203 number for more info. At the end, he sternly said not to disregard the message. Even though it was obviously rubbish, I guess it might scare some folks.
