These days I just ignore calls from unknown numbers and straight away block them, no point in answering anymore.

So this bloke rings me up asking straight away for the company owner, then starts quizzing me about financial stuff. I asked him his name and he said Luke Brough, but I could tell from his thick Indian accent he wasn’t too sure how to spell it. When I pressed for the company's name and a phone number to call back, he just said United Exports and that they’ve got loads of numbers to call, then just cut the line on me. Proper dodgy!

I picked up and there was a long silent gap before a woman with an American accent asked if she was speaking to the business owner. I said yes, and then she wanted to know if we needed any funding. I said no thanks, and she said goodbye and hung up.

I got a call from 02032863851 from a man claiming to be Patrick, saying he was ringing about some finance offer. When I asked where in the UK he was located, he said Deansgate, Manchester. I then asked how much I was looking to borrow and told him £1 million - he didn’t even bat an eye. Then I asked for his full name, but he said he couldn’t give it. When I suggested I’d call back later, he said he’d ring me instead. I told him not to bother unless he started telling the truth, as he was basically talking to someone who wasn’t real. Of course, he hasn’t called back since!

When I asked why he suddenly hung up, there was a really awkward pause before he said hello. I don’t think this was a UK number - probably something from overseas, so the Telephone Preference Service won’t be able to block it. Gotta be careful with these ones.

At work, I got a call from some bloke who kept shouting HELLO over and over, wanting to talk to the business owner. Then he just dropped the call.

This woman, sounded like she was from overseas, called me three times asking if I owned the business, then just hung up abruptly - honestly, quite impolite!

Got a call from a cheerful woman claiming to be from India, promising loads of money. I played along and suddenly found myself "living" on a beach in Barbados. Well, not really. These are just nosy calls from some dodgy finance spammers over in the Indian subcontinent. Best thing is to just hang up straight away.

At 10:27 on 2nd Nov 2018, I got a call where the woman on the other end barely spoke English properly. She just kept saying "hello" over and over before cutting off. Seemed like a dodgy foreign accent.

This number has been ringing me a few times lately, each time no one's there. Sometimes it just cuts off quickly, other times all I hear is weird screeching like an old modem. Proper strange.

I got a call on my landline from this number and it showed as international. I ignored it since I never pick up those calls. I thought blocking all international calls would stop this, but apparently they’ve found some new way to ring early in the morning using tricky numbers. Anyway, I’ve gone ahead and blocked this one too now!
