I had a couple of missed calls from an unknown number, so I rang back and got a robotic American lady saying they were too busy, so I just ended the call. Then the same number rang me again and this time it was someone pretending to be from HMRC telling me there’s a warrant for my arrest because of fraud. I didn’t buy it, just hung up and blocked them straight away. HMRC would never phone you like that!

He mentioned something about not interrupting the chat, then switched to speaking in Hindi saying something like "you gave the wrong answer blah blah." This number called me around 3 this afternoon and also sent a text, pretending to be from HMRC. They claimed I owed some unpaid tax and if I didn’t sort it today, they’d take it to court.
