I received a call on 01/01/2022 from a number that seemed to be linked to an organisation workin with kids. Apparently the call was about a lost phone I’d found on the train, not my own number. The person said he was staff. It all seemed genuine because the actual owner came to pick up the phone - I recognised him since 1. his lock screen had a photo of himself, and 2. he told me his PIN to unlock it and prove ownership. Seems like that number might be recycled or rented out, so best to just give it a miss.

Got a call from someone pretending to be from the pension dept. I double checked with the works and pensions office and they told me to just block the number and not pick up. Looks like it’s a scam coming out of India.

got call from some asian bloke saying he was with postcode lottery and claimed id won some discount card with 40/50% off at asda, tesco and so on. never even entered their lottery but played along for a bit. he also said id bagged a 2 week holiday anywhere in the uk or europe. then passed me onto an asian lady who said she’d activate my card but needed my bank details to verify my identity. asked her to send me an email explaining the deal but guess what they just hung up on me! now their number is blocked from my phone.

I've been getting calls from these 020 3 xxx xxx numbers quite a bit, like 020 39416789 and 020 31546770, and I reckon they're all connected somehow. I just don't answer because I never trust numbers I don’t recognise, plus they mostly seem to be dodgy callers trying to scam people.

Got a call from an Asian woman claiming I’d won something from the postcode lottery. I told her it’s odd because I usually get a letter or an email if I win anything. The moment I mentioned that, she just cut the call. Definitely a scam, watch out for these sorts of calls!

Some bloke rang me up and asked for me by my name, saying it was about my Aviva insurance. I was proper baffled and asked what he was on about, then he just cut me off. Thing is, I don’t even have any Aviva insurance! So, I’ve gone ahead and blocked that number now.

I’ve had the misfortune of encountering this number, and it’s definitely a con artist! I gave him a taste of his own medicine by leading him on a bit, calling him an Indian fraudster. Quite the laugh!

Hello there, it seems I've been charged £610 without my consent. What steps should I take? Is it necessary to involve the police in this matter?

I received a rather pleasant call from a chap claiming to be from an Indian firm, informing me that my funds were all set to be transferred to my account. However, he insisted that I first transfer £124. Strangely, he didn’t mention the name of the company nor provided any identification. Quite suspicious if you ask me!
