We received a very similar call that claimed we were due a refund of £7,000 for our council tax. They had an alarming amount of our personal details, but when they insisted we provide our bank information, we firmly refused. We told them to send a cheque instead, but they were adamant that it might get lost in the post. After we made it clear we wouldn't share our details, the woman on the other end became quite rude and hung up on us. Definitely sounds like a scam to me!

I received a call from a woman of Asian descent who kept insisting that they are upstanding citizens and that I am due a refund on my council tax. The number she provided was 01234 567898, along with some so-called approval code. Sounds a bit dodgy, doesn't it? She went on about how it's imperative that we spend the refund sensibly and not squander it! Quite the cheek, really!

We've just received a call from someone claiming we're due a £7,000 refund on our council tax! How fortunate we must feel, eh? To me, it just screams scam! They were fishing for our personal information, like our date of birth and such. Honestly, I’d be quite amused to see them try and do anything with those dodgy details!

My partner recently received a call from a number that seemed to duplicate another, with a woman named Elizabeth rattling on about nothing of substance. He was having none of it and gave her a right telling-off as soon as they started hounding him for banking details-he's not one to be duped easily! They quickly hung up on him. In a fit of frustration, we tried to ring them back, but guess what? They promptly cut us off as well. It’s truly disheartening to imagine them tricking someone less wary into their scam.

Haha, just had a rather amusing phone call! We fed them a whole bunch of wrong details and cheekily pointed out that their English skills were lacking, all while there was a strange noise in the background. Honestly, how gullible do they think we are? We let them know we searched for her number, 02032861358, and recited verbatim what we found about both her and her pal Derek. On the 30th of November, we received a call from this number, claiming to be the council tax office in London. They mentioned something about us being eligible for a rebate of £7,000 due to our punctual payments. They insisted they needed our banking details, but of course, we weren’t inclined to provide that information. I asked if they could issue a cheque instead, but they outright refused. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!
