This 0300 number is definitely a scam, dont answer or waste your time, just hang up and ignore. HMRC never calls you like this, they always send letters and its best to verify with them yourself. Loads of scammers out there trying to trick you into giving cash. If you get an automated caller, just hang up straight away. If it's a person, just tell them to jog on.

Had a call today from someone claiming to be Sarah Wilson, with an automated message saying it’s from HMRC and urgent. The robot voice said the call is recorded, I couldn’t interrupt, and I needed a solicitor. They said I supposedly owe money from 2012 to 2016, accused me of fraud, and said I’d be arrested and my accounts frozen. I hung up straight away. Some bloke from India claiming to be from HMRC. Haha! I thought I'd mess about with him a bit. When I called him out, he had the cheek to ask how I wanted his d**k? I said PICKLED! I don't pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise, so I just checked the voicemail and then looked up the number online. I do have a pending tax case with HMRC right now, so if this ‘Sarah Wilson’ actually left a proper voicemail, I might have thought it was real. Even then, I wouldn’t have called back, I'd wait for proper paperwork. But a robotic message followed by a threat about a solicitor? No thanks, that’s just daft!

Got calls from this bloke three times over the past few days. He told me there’s some lawsuit against me, so I straight up told him to bring it on, you muppet. Then he mentioned my first name and threatened that he and his mates were coming round to mess me up. I warned him to stay clear, you stupid git, and in the end, this Indian guy just hung up. Totally a scam, but I’m not one to get scared quick. Just be careful out there.

When I rang back, this guy with a thick Asian accent picked up and there was loads of noisy background like a call centre. Then he just cut me off.
