Got a recorded call saying it was BT, warning me I’d be arrested for some kind of "fraud". Total scam, obviously just trying to scare me.

Got a call from a supposed "British Telecom" number with a weird American accent, claiming I've been involved in fraud and that I'm going to be arrested. The message told me to press 1 if I wanted to talk to someone. Definitely sounded like a scam to me.

Got a call from some automated bloke with a North American accent, saying BT’s tech support found malware on my PC. I sussed it was dodgy right away and ended the call. The number’s Italian, from what I can tell by the code, and it’s been active for some time now. You’d think the authorities could track it down and put a stop to it. I’d say it’s mainly "harassing" unless you stupidly press 1 as the message says, then it turns "dangerous."

I picked up the phone and a woman said “hello, hello”, then just hung up. Honestly, these annoying calls need to be stopped already.

I received a recorded message from a male voice, sounding distinctly American and automated. It warned that I could potentially face arrest for fraud unless I pressed 1 to continue the call. I chose not to engage and let it go to voicemail instead.

Lately, I've been getting loads of silent calls - total scammers, no doubt. It's ridiculous how these muppets keep trying it. Proper annoying.

I keep getting calls from loads of different 0203 numbers telling me to press 1 or risk getting arrested by a so-called BT engineer. They all sound like they're from America or something. I've blocked all the other numbers already, but it feels like they just keep coming from nowhere. How long can they keep hassling me with new ones?

Got a voicemail from some bloke with an American accent - sounded really harsh and pretty scary. They kept saying if I didn’t press 1, I’d be charged with fraud and taken away by the police. They claimed it was from BT, but that was clearly a lie. Glad I missed the call because hearing those threats was honestly quite upsetting. I’ve already wiped the message now.

Got a call from some robotic voice with an American accent, telling me I was involved in fraud and that I’d be arrested. It urged me to press 1 to get in touch with British Telecom. These scams are so obvious, it’s mad they’re still allowed to keep going. Why on earth aren’t they shut down when it’s clear they’re just trying to con people?

It was some kind of robot or a lady's voice on the line. Definitely a scam!

Like everyone else is saying, BT really needs to put an end to these calls. The way they come across is quite intimidating. Best thing is just to not answer or react at all!

I noticed this number was international, so I figured it was likely a scam and just blocked it without answerin. I'd switched off my BT Call Guardian earlier that day so the hospital could get through without trouble. Now it looks like I’ll have to keep it off for a bit, which means those scammers will probably ring back using different numbers.

Got a voicemail from some bloke with a really dull robotic voice, saying I'd been caught in some fraud and might get arrested. I've also had a few messages warning that my internet line would be cut off if I didn't get back to them, but I’m not even with BT! Definitely smells like a scam. I tried ringing back but, surprise surprise, no answer.

Got a call from supposedly BT, but it was clearly fake. The voice was this dull automated bloke, sounded nothing human. I missed the start 'cos my answerphone kicked in but caught the rest: "…representative to fix the issue or you’ll be part of a fraud case and risk arrest. I repeat, press 1 now to connect to the British Telecom agent." Honestly, don’t press 1, it’s a scam.
